Despite some earlier reports of progress made on The Boys and Adam McKay's involvement, it looks like we may have to wait even longer. The Hollywood Reporter has found out that Columbia studios is no longer working on The Boys. The studio was working on writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson's edgy/violent comic book. Matt Manfredi, Phil Hay, and even Seth Rogen have worked on the screenplay since the project was first lined up in 2009.

Producers Neal H. Moritz of Original Film and Kickstart's Jason Netter will shop the project around to other studios.

The series is set in a contemporary world where superheroes exist. However, most of the superheroes in the series' universe are corrupted by their celebrity status and often engage in reckless behavior, compromising the safety of the world. For this reason, a superpowered CIA squad, known informally as "The Boys", is charged with monitoring the superhero community.-Wikipedia

So, what do you think? Another setback for The Boys and Simon Pegg isn't getting any younger. Sound off below! Special thanks to PaulRom for the heads up.
