Seth Rogen On PREACHER; Hints At Some Changes From The Comic

The star of the comedy flick Bad Neighbors updates /Film on the progress of the small screen adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's gloriously messed up Preacher, which Rogen is writing along with Evan Goldberg and Breaking Bad's Sam Catlin.

After several attempts to adapt Garth Ennis' controversial comic series for the big screen, fans were delighted to hear that we'd actually be getting an AMC tv show instead. A while back it was announced that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg would pen the script for the project, with Breaking Bad's Sam Catlin on board as executive producer and showrunner. Now in an interview with /Film, Rogen offers an update, and suggests that even readers of the comic will be in for a few surprises when the show airs.

"Me and Evan are writing it write now with the help of Sam Catlin and we’ve come up with a lot of incredibly crazy ideas. [Laughs] It’s a fun thing to riff on and talk about. We’re definitely trying to expand on some of the ideas in the comic and make it that…we love most of the main cornerstones of the comic but we’re trying to make it that even if you’ve read the comic you should not know exactly what to expect from the TV show."

Not a bad thing in my opinion. The likes of The Walking Dead and more recently Game Of Thrones have taken some pretty big diversions from their source material, and are arguably all the better for it. Plus there was no way Preacher was ever going to be adapted exactly as is it appears on the page anyway. What do you guys think will be altered most for the tv screen?
