The Plot Thickens In These Bloody Funny New Clips From Sunday's Episode Of PREACHER; "Sundowner"

A couple of new sneak peeks from the sixth episode of AMC's Preacher have been released, and it looks like things are really starting to heat up for Jesse and co. as we head towards the season 1 finale....

In the first of these clips from Sunday's new episode of Preacher, Jesse confronts De Blanc and Fiore when he sees them beating up what looks to be a helpless woman, and the consequences finally make him realise the pair were telling the truth about the entity that resides inside him.

Then in a lighter scene, Cassidy and Jesse drink beer in their underwear as the Preacher explains the meaning behind some of his body ink. Comic fans will surely know who the "mean old lady" he references is supposed to be.

Be sure to tune in on Sunday to find out what happens next. Preacher was recently renewed for an expanded second season.

I love the Preacher comic book and I dig the TV adaptation so far. However, there's no denying that while the TV series has much of the same 'soul' as the source material they are two entirely different beasts. At this point I'd compare the 'Preacher' TV series to 'The Walking Dead' TV series: two properties inspired by their comic book counterparts as opposed to direct adaptations. Screen rant recently wrote a good article detailing the differences between what we see on AMC and the comics, check it out: http://screenrant.com/preacher-tv-comic-differences/

I love the book and like the show. Thankfully I'm intelligent enough to separate the two.

The show has a little bit of what made the books great, but not all the way there yet. Tulip is a completely different person. Looks, attitude, way of speaking, everything. Jesse is a bit too much of a "devotee" in the show.

They have time to pull it together though. I'll keep watching. Can't wait to see the Grail!

@SHAFTzro - Yeah those 2 are quite different, Cass is pretty much spot on. I think that they will eventually become more like their comic counterparts though.. this is working almost like a prequel to the comic so far.

@SHAFTzro - I like the show... But Tulip as the "stay away from my man" crazy ex-GF is kinda bothering me. She stuck around in the book (from what Ive read so far) to find out why he left her in the first place. Not to be all crazy and protective over him. But Cassidy is great and Deblanc and Fior are good too. Once Jesse finds out the truth about God, I expect the show to really get into high gear. I do wish he would hear all of the explanations in his head (like the book) rather than have it explained to him by Fior and Deblanc. But I'm not gonna nit pick.
