THE WALKING DEAD: Chad L. Coleman On What We Can Expect From Tyreese

Fan-favorite character Tyreese made his tv debut in Sunday night's mid season finale, but given the nature of this brutal show, how long can we expect to see him stick around for? Check out some excepts from an interview with MTV - and beware of comic book SPOILERS..

Fans of Robert Kirkman's excellent comic series will know that Tyreese comes to a rather shocking and nasty end at the hands of The Governor as the "Made To Suffer" arc winds down. But since his tv counterpart has literally just been introduced, and the tv show is taking some big liberties with who is killed off and when, should we expect Tyreese to stick around for a while? MTV came right out and asked actor Chad L. Coleman that very question..

"I can't say anything. Slowdown, be easy, you're going to be incredibly proud. All of these folks have the highest integrity [for storytelling] and character so you're going to see that played out on the show. Don't think there's any agenda, it's how storytelling unfolds sometimes. You're going to be so proud of Michonne and Tyreese and Sasha, what's coming you're going to be so shocked by. I've been lucky to have been involved in shows that are absolutely amazing. I say no worries, fasten your seatbelts."

So he's obviously not giving anything away on that front, but, he does reveal exactly how many episodes we can expect to see Tyreese pop up in when The Walking Dead returns from it's mid-season hiatus early next year. "I think that's okay to say", says Coleman. "I'm in five of the last eight [episodes]." So there you have it! Does that mean Tyreese loses his head in episode 13? Unlikely since the actor was so tight lipped about what's going to happen - but you never know. For the full interview click the link back to MTV below.

I say two episodes; because this show doesn't like a black character to last very long

A very silly comment. PEOPLE don't last long on the show.

I heard a rumour that Morgan would be returning this season...apparently Lennie James made a deal with AMC to reprise the role.

@Nostalgic Youth
Not only did T-Dogg stick around for a bit, but he was able to have everyone refer to him as T-Dogg during a zombie apocalypse. introducing your own nickname is hard enough, it's damn near impossible while running from the living dead.

Coleman is a fantastic actor. If you have never watched the Wire you should. He managed to be a guy that you rooted hard for even though he was a stone killer for years. "Morgan" is on the call sheet for season 3, im hoping him and his son show up healthy and whole. They are both very strong actors and characters.

Perhaps zombies are like me, preferring dark meat because it's more moist!

I kid… I kid…

Just because he's black doesn't mean he's going to die as they introduce new characters they weed out less important ones. Still miss t-dogg.

@IronPatriot88: Yeah same on this cutting seasons in half...well at least we have to wait till Feb, last season we had to wait till March. Breaking Bad is even worst, the second half of season 5 doesnt start till July 2013, might as well reference it as Season 6.

@Canon108 and @sikwon - heard that too.
Lennie is a fantastic actor and killed it on Human Target. Great show and never should have been canceled.

I'm glad we get Tyrese to look like Tyrese and confirmation he will live up to his comicbook counterpart. Darabont made too many concessions away from casting just to get his buddies on the show from his older movies. The acting has lacked in my opinion with a few gems like Rick, Carl, Hershcel. Andrea can't act worth a crap and just spreads her legs and gives weird faces.

Anyway, my theory is Tyrese will be the Tyrese we saw as Rick's buddy and right hand man in the comics. I think Daryl is going to stray from the group with Merle or worse end up dead. During the midseason finale, I kept thinking Daryl would be killed by the Governor but thank goodnes that was incorrect.

I think they were just "eliminating" people to make room for Tyreese and Co. I think that there is a majoe change coming. Tyreese and Michone will kill that puckwallow Governor! Give him the hard goodbye.

My bro and I were laughing at the season finale, because the theory became real.

***SPOILERS***

When Oscar was introduced, T-Dog was killed not long. And when Tyreese was finally introduced, Oscar dies in the same episode. We should've seen it coming sooner as when Rick and Morgan parted ways, they introduced T-Dog.

Why is it when a character is introduced we are already talking about when they will die? I'm glad the show is different from the books.

Season 3 has lived up to the hype so far. I can't wait to see what happens between Daryl and Merle. Tyrese seems cool. I've been a fan from the 1st episode, but haven't read any of the books yet.
