A New Team Of Heroes Is Assembled In The Synopsis For ARROW's Season 5 Premiere; "Legacy"
Oliver Queen found himself without a team when we last saw him, but the first official synopsis for the season five premiere makes it clear that Green Arrow is about to assemble a new group of heroes...
While it would be unfair to call the last two seasons of Arrow bad, it's fair to say that both Ra's al Ghul and Damien Darhk failed to hit the mark after the awesomeness that was Green Arrow vs. Deathstroke. Going into the show's fifth year, it seems a real effort has been made to shake things up though, and that's going to include a new team of vigilantes made up of the likes of Artemis and Mister Terrific.
When we'll first see them together remains to be seen, but based on the synopsis below, Oliver will start bringing them together fairly early on as he looks to combat the villainous Tobias Church. What makes him so dangerous also isn't clear right now, but things definitely seem to be looking up for Arrow so far. What do you guys think? As always, be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.
NEW BEGINNINGS — After Laurel’s (Katie Cassidy) death and the departures of both Diggle (David Ramsey) and Thea (Willa Holland) from Team Arrow, Oliver (Stephen Amell) takes to the streets solo to protect Star City’s citizens as the Green Arrow. With Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) guiding him from the bunker, Oliver is forced to deal with a city that has become overrun with both criminals and a slew of new (and painfully inexperienced) vigilantes. Watching Oliver try to balance his jobs as both the mayor and also the protector of Star City, Felicity suggests he form a new team, but Oliver resists. However, when a deadly new criminal, Tobias Church (guest star Chad L. Coleman), enters the picture, Oliver realizes the best thing for the city might be a new team of superheroes. Meanwhile, the flashbacks take us to Russia where Oliver faces off against the Bratva. James Bamford directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Wendy Mericle.
