Arrow returned tonight with its first episode since the big news last week that the series would be coming to an end this fall, and it was an interesting hour, to say the least, as Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow got well-acquainted with their new jobs at the Star City Police Department.

Check out the promo for next week's episode below, which will find William finally geting some more insight on his half-sister Mia's seemingly troubled upbringing and rocky her relationship with her mother, Felicity Smoak.

"Star City 2040" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

FLASH FORWARD TO THE FUTURE - Mia (guest star Katherine McNamara) and William (guest star Ben Lewis) venture into the Glades on a dangerous mission. There they run into Dinah (Juliana Harkavy), Roy (Colton Haynes) and Zoe (guest star Andrea Sixtos) who deliver some devastating news. The flash forwards share highlights from Mia's childhood with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). James Bamford directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Oscar Balderrama (#716). Original airdate 3/18/2019.

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle, computer-science expert Felicity Smoak, former protégé Roy Harper, brilliant inventor Curtis Holt, street-savvy Rene Ramirez and meta-human Dinah Drake. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, forcing him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.

Arrow features:
Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow
Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance/Black Siren
David Ramsey as John Diggle/Spartan
Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak
Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt/Mr. Terrific
Rick Gonzalez as Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog

Colton Haynes as Roy Harper/Arsenal

Im liking the flash forward parts. Almost think it'd be cool to have a whole series set in the future, kind of like an "Arrow Beyond" of you will.

A decent, 'good/solid' episode tonight; not as strong as last week's. Not that there was anything bad, just wasn't packing the punches of last week or the week before.

The training montage was really great. "He does know we have our own uniforms, right?" Lol, Oliver's smile was priceless. I thought the conflict of ideology between the SCPD way and the Vigilante way, while frustrating, was an interesting and good perspective to show. Oliver telling the police captain that his protocols are flawed was a good argument. Was glad to see that there was a middle ground that could be reached and that Team Arrow could continue, as themselves, as a black ops sort of section of the SCPD.

Oliver and Felicity's speech about "For the city, for our family, for a better future" was good. And the Mia moment with Oliver and Felicity was really nice.

Great to see Bronze Tiger again, very unexpected. Nice moment with his son. Interesting that Emiko is the one that "killed" Diaz, but I guess not that surprising considering she is partnered with Dante. It is interesting though that Emiko knows Laurel is Black Siren. Before now, the only people that knew that to our knowledge were Team Arrow, Diaz (so I guess he could have told Dante), Team Flash and the Legends.

"James Midas, you have failed this city!" OGA moment! And great to see the Arrow cave back up and running. And the fight against the goons was nice.

Finally, the flashforwards tonight were good, liked seeing William and Mia working together.

I like that Bronze Tiger's son is Conner Hawk and that John Diggle will adopt him

@tugboy - Wait...foreal?

@Himura - They were foreshadowing that. In the future, Conner Hawk said he was adopted by John Diggle. When Laurel brought Bronze Tiger's son to meet him in jail, Bronze Tiger said "There's my little Hawk"
So yes, it appears that is what they are setting up. All part of Bronze Tiger's redemption arc, I guess. He will die doing something heroic?
Makes me wonder if something bad is going to happen to Diggle's real son, though.
