CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS Is Being Re-Aired In Place Of Delayed ARROWVERSE Episodes

TV shows like Batwoman and Supergirl are being pulled from The CW's schedule due to the coronavirus, but the network has come up with a solution by revealing plans to re-air Crisis on Infinite Earths!

With shooting and post-production unable to be completed due to the coronavirus pandemic, The CW has been forced to pull shows like Batwoman and Supergirl from television. The hope is that they will return later this year, but it's an unprecedented situation, and not one any network is used to!

There is, however, some good news to share with DC TV fans (at last!) because The CW has confirmed that the entire Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover will now be re-aired in its entirety.

Legends of Tomorrow has finished filming its fifth season so is unlikely to be hit by delays, but work on The Flash has also been halted. The three shows are likely to have shortened seasons and no finales, and that's going to hurt completists; how the network will respond to all of this is a mystery, and if work can't resume on their next seasons in time for the fall, chaos may well ensue.

In the meantime, we can look forward to seeing Crisis on Infinite Earths kick off on Tuesday, April 7th, with Supergirl and Batwoman's episodes. Those replace previously scheduled new instalments of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, and Crisis then continues on Wednesday, April 8th, before concluding on Thursday, April 9th with the final two chapters.

The Arrowverse aren't the only shows affected on The CW, as that week's episodes of Riverdale, Katy Keene, and Legacies are also being pre-empted.

This is the new norm for now, but at least we now have a second chance to experience Crisis!

I liked CW’s COIE, it’s actually pretty close to the comic all things considered. Definitely a far better Dc crossover experiences than those god awful BvS and Justice League movies fanboys are so obsessed with.

I’m good, I caught some of the Superman stuff with Brandon Routh and it was pretty cringed. Loved Arrowverse up until season 4 of Arrow and then Flash. I just didn’t care about Arrow after Damien Dark and the continued flashing back to the island, and then the “We are the flash” and Ralph Dibny ruined my love of the Flash. Tried legends and realized 4 episodes in couldn’t care less about any of the characters. I wish I could have stayed interested but I genuinely don’t see the appeal of these shows anymore

@Ha1frican - Legends really didn't even become worth watching until Season 2. And now it fully embraces its goofier, misfit nature which is what makes it better.

Was there any live action DC property that didn't make it into Crisis? I'm trying to think. Lois and Clark is one I guess.....

@Nightwing1015 - Nolan's Batman films, Joker, Keanu Constantine, Watchmen (both versions), Lynda Carter Wonder Woman, Gotham, George Reeve Superman, the old (pretty racist) Batman serials, the Wonder Woman nbc pilot, and Krypton weren't in it of the top of my head. Probably more

@Nightwing1015 @tmp3
Also the superboy & shazam tv series and the swamp thing films.
Also none of the serials such as: Spy Smasher, Captain Marvel and Blackhawk of the top of my head prob even more.

@kider - What happened to the Spielberg Blackhawk film?!?

@tmp3 - I never expected the Batman serials to make an appearance though. Nobody ever really talks about them. The WW Pilot doesn't really count in my book either as it was never picked up. By that logic they also missed the Aquaman pilot.

But yeah, Gotham, Krypton and Nolan Batman are probably the most glaring errors.

I seem to remember they offered both Lynda Carter Wonder Woman and Krypton to make an appearance. But Krypton turned it down and WB didn't want Carter as Wonder Woman apparently. Must be to do with the movies?

Never expected Joker or Reeve Superman in there either. Because Joker wasn't even released by the time Crisis started and I think everyone from Reeve Superman is dead.

Cool, might try to check out at least the last two episodes since I didn't see those on TV.

I'd like to rewatch the SuperRouth episode, and I'd like to skip the Ezra cameo please and thank you.

If anyone hasn't read Crisis on Infinite Earths, do yourself a favor and read the original source. The comic book is infinitely superior to the CW adaptation.
