Kate Kane never planned to be Gotham's new vigilante. Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob's first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety. After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm, by kidnapping his best Crow officer Sophie Moore. Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane, who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate -- the daughter he still has -- at a distance. But Kate is a woman who's done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she'll have to become the one thing her father loathes -- a dark knight vigilante. With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary, and the crafty Luke Fox, the son of Wayne Enterprises' tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman. Still holding a flame for her ex-girlfriend, Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice, who's always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don't call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope.

Batwoman features:
Ruby Rose as Kate Kane/Batwoman
Rachel Skarsten as Alice
Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore
Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton
Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox
Elizabeth Anweis as Catherine Hamilton-Kane
Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane

Batwoman returns with an all-new episode on November 10

Solid episode, was nice to get some backstory to Alice, but the rest of the stuff with her is kind of getting a bit derivative and repetitive. Too much "I'm evil, blah blah blah, you've captured me or put me in a corner but look, I'll easily escape, then we will dance around each other again, also accept me I'm Beth but also screw you cause I'm Beth."

At least we got a slight reference to Elseworlds (acknowledging that we have now caught up to that event time-wise on the show), but was also hoping for a small nod to the Green Arrow or Flash or Supergirl being present in Gotham as well.

Gotham had its own version of Executioner, and they really did a good job with him. Interested in seeing Batwoman's take on this character, though I imagine he will just be a villain of the week rather than the season's long character that he was on Gotham.

Batwoman was actually pretty good tonight, and not once did she put on the costume. I'm hoping they show us more of Beth's back story. I want to see how she escaped the house, if she killed the crazy father.

@gremlin22 - I forgot, she did put the bat-suit on right at the beginning.

This would have to easily be my favourite of the Arrowverse shows at the moment. Ruby Rose is showing some pretty good acting, and (paying attention other CW actors), restraint. And the female hero and lesbian angles are not the flag waving I thought it was going to be from the pre season hype, which is a fantastic, respectful approach and not the patronizing crap I was expecting. Apart from a few wobbly lines here or there, it’s actually got a nice serious vibe about it which works really well for me. I think not having a great big team of people sitting around talking about their feelings and making witty comments every 10 seconds is a refreshing change of pace. I just hope Luke doesn’t go any further “quirky nerd” than he does now.

Supergirl is rehashing the “Jonn’s discovered some new memories” storyline AGAIN while giving every alien a speech about how the don’t have to be evil if they just look inside themselves, while everyone else sits around talking about their feelings.

Flash is rehashing the “Barry can’t escape his future/undo the past” storyline AGAIN while giving every meta a speech about how they don’t have to be evil if they look inside themselves, while everyone else sits around talking about their feelings.

Legends is just cheese.

Arrow is fairing slightly better IMO, but - I know it’s the last season and all - all the “suprise” reappearances are like “Oh, it’s Thea, wow, haven’t seen her in a few episodes”. Just a farewell tour with no shock factor at all. And the future kids thing? A year and a half to make it connect? Jesus... And the actress who plays Mia has the range of a tree. For god’s sake, stop scowling for 10 bloody seconds. Seriously, give it a rest! But hey, slightly less sitting around talking about their feelings. So that’s a plus 👍🏻

Man, I’ve had a bad day at work. Can you tell...? 🤬

@Tasmaniac - Bad day at work? Maybe you should sit down with your co-workers and talk about your feelings. Just kidding 😄 But I do agree with everything you say, too much soap opera stuff.

@gremlin22 - that's the trouble with the CW DC shows - for all of the cool that you get. You get an equal helping of teenage melodrama. CW will never be able to drop that One Tree Hill vibe that it has.
