As a defender of the show, I'm really getting tired of them setting up major storylines at the beginning of each season and then ending them in two or three episodes, just so they can move on to other shit.

In Season 2, the Jerome storyline was set up as a major arc and ended in three episodes. In Season 3, they built up this major "monsters invading Gotham" storyline (with Hugo Strange hyping it as literally being worse than a nuclear bomb), only to sloppily end it in three episodes.

Now they opened Season 4 with a cool Scarecrow storyline, which easily should have been a several episode arc, that they gave an anti-climactic end to in the second [frick]in' episode. I love the show, but come on!

@Darkknight2149 - Well the actor playin Scarecrow is listed as a recurring cast member so they will probably revisit that plot later on in the season, like how Fish and Hugo came back after leaving at the beginning of last season. Also to be fare, they cant keep Jerome around for more then a few episodes, hes a main character on another show called Shameless

Yeah, I get the whole "He's still out there" thing but that really doesn't justify setting up a major story arc with Scarecrow, making it a key point in the marketing, and then hastily/sloppily wrapping it up in the second episode for the sake of moving on... Especially since this has become a trend for the beginning of every season of the show.

And knowing the show, we probably won't be seeing Scarecrow again except for obligatory appearances in the second half of the season (like Mr. Freeze's mostly meaningless appearances after his initial arc). I've been one of the show's biggest defenders since the first season but, four seasons in, it's becoming clear that are some serious problems in terms of long-term plotting.

@Darkknight2149 - For all we know Scarecrow could still have a big role, last season Mad Hatter was defeated but what he did still played a big role in the plot of the second half

Hatter's role wasn't that big in the second half of Season 3. And even if Scarecrow returns later in the season (he's not returning in the immediate future), my entire point remains the same.

Yeah, Bruce sucks. Gordon is COOL! Harvey is Cool! For being a BATMAN show, they could have really taken more time to make a COOL Batman, instead of making him a...well, whatever! Shit, they should have never had Bruce in the story, besides for the beginning, then left him out completely. That way they could have used someone different, move ahead some years, and made things more interesting in my opinion.

He's just starting out, so of course he's not going to be Mr. Badass yet. He's going to make plenty of mistakes, which is what should happen.

This series will end before most people realize this was never, ever meant to be a "prequel".

I hope it continues being as strong as it has been recently.

This show has great actors, but the writers need to get their sh*t together. This train is off the rails...
