Before there was Batman, there was GOTHAM. Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world’s greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon’s story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world’s most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker? GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told.

Good to see the Penguin with the umbrella. Hope he wears the top hat soon.

I personally like the show. I believe that they really should have held back on killing off the Wayne's and made the death of the Wayne's be the storyline in season two. This season should have focused on Thomas and Martha being the most prominent and influential figures in Gotham City, rather than the audience being told by the press and the mafia in the show. Also they should have dialed back on Bruce Wayne's journey to becoming Batman. The kid actor is doing a great job at being Bruce Wayne but he should still be coping with his parents loss. The show seems to have just nose dive right in to him becoming a detective and a great one at that.

Some freaking killer casting! Hope they can start to steer clear of the formula writing that plagued most seasons of Smallville. Viper? ugh. And really hoping for more screen time for the Cat and the Riddler.

I think this show has a lot of potential but it consistently squanders it. I don't know about everyone else but I don't understand how every single superhero/comic-inspired TV show (bar the Walking Dead) has to be cheesy, formulaic and completely half-assed. A show focusing on a young Gordon could have been great. Imagine something with the grit and realism and quality of The Wire, and then slowly over the seasons start to trickle in the more comic-book elements. It could have been fantastic. Instead it's just a lot of missed oppurtunities.

Also, fan nitpick but is anyone else annoyed that they keep calling Falcone (pronounced Falcon-ay) as Fal-cone? [frick]ing poop.

This show is hit and miss. I love Penguin, Gordon and Bullock are ok.

My main issue with the series, when does this take place? I know before Bruce becomes Batman, but actual time period. They want the city to feel old, have the cops driving the old school cop cars, yet you have brand new cars being driven by Gotham citizens.

And why is everyone so damn close to Bruce? Selena witnessed the Wayne's murder now? Poison Ivy's dad is the guy framed for the Wayne's murder. Now we are getting Dent, I thought he and Bruce were about the same age? What is next?, Bane's mother is a maid at Wayne Manor?

Arrow is way better than this, and I was really hoping this would change the game for comic book based shows.
