SUPERGIRL: The Violence Is Getting Worse In The New Promo For Season 4, Episode 6: "Call To Action"

Next week, Supergirl celebrates Thanksgiving, but it doesn't look to be a particularly enjoyable hour for Kara as she must deal with the aftermath of her disastrous televised debate with Ben Lockwood.

With Agent Liberty (Sam Witwer) essentially outsmarting Kara (Melissa Benoist) at every turn, the Girl of Steel has been having a pretty rough start to the year, and it doesn't look to be getting any better next week when she has a less-than-ideal televised debate with Ben Lockwood about the growing anti-alien sentiment.

Based on the promo, it seems likely that Kara's disastrous debate will result in even more innocent aliens finding themselves in mortal danger as the Children of Liberty begin to hunt them down. Plus, James (Mehcad Brooks) and Lena (Katie McGrath) will attempt to find a solution themselves, but it looks like they'll be having a difference of opinion on how to handle the situation.

"Call to Action" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

THANKSGIVING - Everyone gathers for Thanksgiving but Kara (Melissa Benoist) is feeling down after her televised debate with Ben Lockwood (Sam Witwer) about the anti-alien sentiment coursing through National City. Meanwhile, James (Mehcad Brooks) and Lena (Katie McGrath) argue about the best way to handle the Children of Liberty. Antonio Negret directed the episode written by Gabriel Llanas & Daniel Beaty (#406). Original airdate 11/18/2018.

Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen/Guardian
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers
Jeremy Jordan as Winslow 'Winn' Schott
David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor
Jesse Rath as Querl Dox/Brainiac 5
Sam Witwer as Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty
Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer
April Parker Jones as Colonel Haley
David Ajala as Manchester Black
Rhona Mitra as Mercy Graves
Robert Baker as Otis Graves
Erica Durance as Alura Zor-El

@JK - sad truth is that is never going to happen, people will always find a group to blame for their problems. Right now its mexicans, after 9/11 it was arabs, at one point it was black people, japanese people.

It was an okay episode. Kind of middle of the road. Not as strong as previous episodes, slow for much of the time. It was dealing with some mature themes that have a lot of parallel with what is happening today in the U.S., but it lacked a lot of excitement much of the time.

Good episode that still moved forward the plot. Drunk Brainaic 5 was hilarious.

Liked how they showed that the alien community isn't all sunshines and rainbows and it is as flawed and full of cons and mistakes just like humans with the story of the alien healer. Found it shocking that his ex-wife went to ask the Sons of Liberty's help to kill him, it was a nice twist to the narrative.

Kara actually listened to her sister and took it slowly, it was refreshing to see her accept that she can do other stuff while not wearing the cape. Just wished they had showed us how she wrote the article instead of jumping ahead to makes us see it was already finished but Amadei's subplot needed to be touched again so I get it. I am expecting a montage next week of her (and Nia maybe) visiting other alien citizens and getting to know them fully, pros and cons.

Lena started all seeing the positives of Lockwood's demographic being interested in CatCo while Jimmy wasn't until the end where he decided to use his 15 minutes of fame to get inside Lockwood's circle and know what makes them tick. It kinda reminds me of when Kara infiltrated Coville's cult in her name. Jimmy doesn't know that he is gonna talk right to the source of all the hatred and the big bad himself. As long as he does not get his Guardian suit stolen so that they can use it to fan the flames more with the aliens.

Alex must've taken notes from Kara's de-escalating speech to make Jensen surrender and give them their first clue about Agent Liberty. It was nice to see Kara trying to avoid fighting close to combat, Parasite is always a tricky foe. This scene was awesome though.

Jimmy's Guardian save was awesome too. And the matrix dome can come in handy later.

Col. Haley gave me vibes at the end of belonging to Lockwood's group...the Graves did say they wanted to expose the President, they did it, so what now? Maybe Haley is like their mole from inside and by being at the DEO and lecturing Alex and shading J'onn it could be a disaster. I bet she would've digged the original Henshaw.

And I really like Lockwood's theme. Its extreme, fits him with all the extremism although he appears to be getting impatient. I am curious what is his next move with the "purge" from the preview.

And Martian Manhunter is literally shaping up. That final scene with the hat had me grinning so much.

Why are her eyes glowing red? I though heat vision was blue in Supergirl?
