A Supergirl film is officially in development at Warner Bros., and as a result of this news, many fans have begun to wonder if that means the mystery surrounding the open pod Clark Kent found in Man of Steel will be explored.

But in a surprising turn of events, director Zack Snyderhas revealed on his Vero account that the mysterious pod in the Kryptonian ship did not belong to the Girl of Steel. Instead, the filmmaker said, "the open pod is something more."

Snyder didn't elaborate on what he meant by "something more," but considering a lot of his plans for the DC cinematic universe are no longer in play, it's likely we'll never see what the director had in store for this Easter egg.

Still, his response is interesting, especially since the prequel comic for Man of Steel, which was initially touted as being canon, revealed that it was Kara Zor-El who used the pod centuries ago.

@doomsday619 - A new set video from Spider-Man: Far From Home shows Tom Holland's stunt double getting soaked in a stunt.

@doomsday619 - You know what that water means:

Spidey & Hydro-Man battling it out on the Venice Canals.

@doomsday619 - That's been the rumor for awhile now. Plus, if you look in the video, his stunt double looks to be standing on one of the iconic Venice Canal Bridges (or a replica of one):

Holland himself is also standing in front of a t-shirt display which has Italian logos on them.

Seems that rumor and that concept art was true.

@L0RDbuckethead - I honestly had not heard that rumor until you two said about it.
I really can't wait to see it now.

@doomsday619 - The rumor originated from a Disney fan expo or some showcase a few weeks back where they reportedly debuted concept art from Far From Home showing Spidey in a bunch of different cities. In the Venice one, specifically, it showed him fighting what appeared to be Hydro-Man

And while there were no pictures of the concept art, there were a few descriptions of the art from people who were there.

It depicted Spidey battling a blue man shooting water out of his hands who seemed to be 'originating' from the Venice canals. I don't know if it was said to be Hydro-Man in the art at all, but it definitely sounds like him from the descriptions, that was the consensus online.

@JoJo1982 -
It doesn't matter what he says. Goyer wrote the movie and the comic that introduced the opened pod.

@Battabing - Right? Does he think we are all so [frick]ing dumb that we forgot that tie-in?

@Battabing - That doesn't mean it's canon, nor that Zack Snyder planned to take it in that direction when he came up with his additional four parts.

I don't care what he says. His movies are non-canon as far as I'm concerned.

@TexasAvenger - They actually are canon. At least the ones he finished are, but the good thing is, moving forward, they don't have to be referenced much, so you can go back to them when you eventually learn they are far more optimistic in nature than people believe, or you don't. They're still canon until the DC Films Cinematic Universe is rebooted which won't be happening anytime soon.
