BARRY COMES FACE-TO-FACE WITH THE MAN IN THE YELLOW SUIT/AMANDA PAYS RETURNS TO THE FLASH - Barry (Grant Gustin) finds himself face-to-face with his nemesis, the man in the yellow suit, a.k.a. Reverse Flash, who killed his mother. Barry is frustrated when the Reverse Flash escapes, but Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) come up with a plan to trap him. All they need is bait, so they turn to Dr. Tina McGee (guest star Amanda Pays) from Mercury Labs to help. Meanwhile, it's Christmas at The West household and Iris (Candice Patton) is in full holiday cheer. Eddie (Rick Cosnett) gives her a surprising gift but also leaves her with a question that could change her life. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) joins the search for the man in yellow and ends up in the crossfire. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) finds Ronnie (Robbie Amell). Ralph Hemecker directed the episode written by Todd Helbing & Aaron Helbing (#109).

Barry Allen was just 11 years old when his mother was killed in a bizarre and terrifying incident and his father was falsely convicted of the murder. With his life changed forever by the tragedy, Barry was taken in and raised by Detective Joe West, the father of Barry’s best friend, Iris. Now, Barry has become a brilliant, driven and endearingly geeky CSI investigator, whose determination to uncover the truth about his mother’s strange death leads him to follow up on every unexplained urban legend and scientific advancement that comes along. Barry’s latest obsession is a cutting edge particle accelerator, created by visionary physicist Harrison Wells and his S.T.A.R. Labs team, who claim that this invention will bring about unimaginable advancements in power and medicine. However, something goes horribly wrong during the public unveiling, and when the devastating explosion causes a freak storm, many lives are lost and Barry is struck by lightning. After nine months in a coma, Barry awakens to find his life has changed once again – the accident has given him the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion – and not everyone is using their new powers for good. In the months since the accident, the city has seen a sharp increase in missing people, unexplained deaths and other strange phenomena. Barry now has a renewed purpose – using his gift of speed to protect the innocent, while never giving up on his quest to solve his mother’s murder and clear his father’s name. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.

Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon

The next one is can't miss.

Am I going to get hooked on Arrow when I watch the latest episode with Flash? :)

The way Reverse-Flash talks reminds of Wells. He speaks of destiny and we know Wells is obsessed with the future.

This makes me believe even more Reverse-Flash is the future version of Wells.

only 9 episodes in and Flash is fire, and Arrow is starting to pick back up.
This has been a very good week for DC.

Best CB show ever. Every episode is awesome. Can't wait for this.

It's just alternate Barry infected by Rainbow Raider/Prism. Calling it. That's why he's missing in the future. He travels back in time to fight with the Reverse Flash, but loses, obviously, since his mother dies.

Flash definitely has the best start of any recent CB show. Solid from the beginning, and constantly going in interesting directions. Overall AoS is my favourite at the moment, but should Flash somehow manage to further improve on it's good start like Arrow and AoS did on their weak starts - hot damn!

The beginning of that promo seemed a little strange, reminded me of Man of Steel and Batman Begins.

The Flash is actually really good. It's one of my favorite comic book television shows to watch. Second is The Walking Dead even though i'm still disappointed the show killed off a female character that was becoming strong.

@Luminus

You could be right. The red eyes might be giving it away.

@MightyZeus: Yeah. He also does the same things Barry does (alter his voice, shimmer his appearance).

Why do I feel like this awesome build up will be anti-climactic.

@luminus
Was thinking the same thing when I first saw him with Red Eyes.

And two other reasons, in the pilot there was a yellow blur with red highlights and the more orange blur that Flash has. It was like the "blurs" were fighting with eachother around the house. Also there was floating liquid before the "blurs" appeared.

Then in the scene where Barry gets struck by lightning, the same thing happens, some floating liquid and a blur passes by really quick.

Its complicated but maybe Reverse - Flash or Flash came back and caused the initial accident Barry had to make sure he gets powers in the first place. Reverse Flash wouldn't exist if Flash didn't, so I'd see why it would be important to them for Barry to get powers.

and btw Luminus, what anime is your avatar from?
Luminus
Luminus - 12/4/2014, 2:38 AM
@AontheheadStarontheChest: I don't know about RF coming back to cause the initial accident. That seems confusingly redundant, since he already exists. As for my avatar, it's from the most fantastic anime since Dragonball Z. It's called High School of the Dead.

If he said "It's your destiny to become the Flash" is probably Wells.

Well one thing is for sure reverse flash is not Dr. Wells. Pause the video at 39 seconds and you see Dr. Wells along with others staring at reverse flash. Keep guessing!
