this is all extremely awesome and all,but i don't like how they took Captain Metropolis out of the "Crimbusters/Watchmen" meeting,i think i know why, because on IMDB.com,the actor who's playing him is a stuntman, and i guess they couldn't have at least tried to find an actor to do his parts when he speaks, idk why

I have to admit after watching these I'm kinda bummed. It seems like everything moves WAY too fast. But then again only clips. I'll make my final judgement when I see the movie.

Yeah, I was kinda looking forward to seeing the whimpy, gay Captain Metropolis get all whiney at the meeting. And it still irks me that they changed the name from Crimebusters to Watchmen. Now, everyone's gonna think that it's only talking about the superhero group when really, Watchmen was a title chosen to refer to anyone in a position of watching over another person or people. I enjoyed the deeper meaning behind it and now everyone's gonna think "oh Watchmen, the team of superheroes" when really, the title is much more meaningful than that.

Sweet man...they do seem a little rushed, but then again...we're only seeing like 30 seconds...I'm still excited, the Doc M monologue seems to be lookin really nice, this movie is going to rock, can't wait

i'm actually wondering if they sped up the playback in editing so that the reel moves faster than it was recorded and thus they can get more in in the time frame they have. i'm rather dissapointed with the quality of acting here. carla gugino was a little of, as was laurie in that scene. i'm still probly gonna be all in denial and love this movie anyways, but i think this would have done so much better production wise if they damn execs would just give snyder the time we all know he wished he could have. i'm sure there was mucho mucho pressure to ensure this movie was done asap. so that they could have time to manufacture and distribute their condoms.

ha! did anyone else notice the little sally on the comedian's zippo?!

I don't know what you guys are talking about, all the scenes work really well, the acting is great. This is how the movie aught to look and feel, not sure what kind of tone you would have replaced things with to make it better. Then again a lot of you probably thought the acting in dark knight was incredible, there was some, but it was all done by heath ledger.

I'm happy that the clip of Phillip Glass' music is in the final version and not just in the trailers...

The clips above are not whole scenes. They are just-clips-of scenes. I do not understand what "It seems like everything is moving too fast!" means. This movie could not look any better. It looks like some body breathed life into the novel, frame by frame and brought the whole thing alive. Someone else said the scenes look rushed but surely you understand that what you are seeing, are clips, from the watchmen meeting scene, and not the entire scene itself. The same is true of all the clips above,ie they are not entire scenes, just "clips" from scenes. I have to laugh when people say-"Oh this shouldnt look like that, it should look like this, blah, blah," when its obvious that the person doesnt even understand what they are looking at. Nothing presented in the clips from the movie looks rushed. In fact, from what I have seen so far,it looks like a lot of time was spent, squeezing in as much detail as possible into each scene judging from the brief glimgses we get to see here and there. Roll on March 6th

I'm really liking what I see here too... Fired Up! looks AMAZING... After watching the promo for it 6 times, I don't see how anyone can pass that movie up...

Seriously... Thanks for the clips and all, but there is only so much "We are driving. We-We are driving." I could take.

THANK YOU FALCONX2! I swear to GOD if I have to hear "I think our bus crashed and we're in heaven. Nah, we would have heard 'We are crashing, we we are crashing.'" I swear I am going to smack a frickin' retarded baby!!

But yea, the clips look great, the movie looks great, the toon looks great. It all looks great. This is going to be awesome. I'm actually HAPPY I didn't see a clip with a single second of Rorschach in it. Overplayed character if you ask me. Ozymandias does looks seriously gay.

That last clip is so funny! "The superman exists, and he is American". So he's saying there's this unstoppable guy with the power to destroy all life on the planet but it's ok...he's American! LMFAO! Yeah, there's no bad American people is there?! We can all relax now!

If this is a line straight from the book then fair enough but if not it must be in for comedy value! Before you jump at me, I have the book ordered and will be reading it before seeing the film.

That line is straight from the book. I'm really liking JDM's portrayal of the Comedian. I'm starting to agree with some of the naysayers, but his acting is definitely a ray of hope that I won't be disappointed in this movie at all.

Howlett04, how was that line in any way funny. it's supposed to be a 1950's news clip. The doctor Manhattan stuff is gonna be the best stuff in the whole film. i cannot wait until we get to see him and laurie on mars.

blacksword7 - 2/20/2009, 9:32 PM
gtrman, why wouldn't he blink? that's like saying, "well laurie in the comics is never shown blinking! why would she blink?!??"

awww noooo they shoulda kept Cap Metropolis. But it's not like I'm gonna say "Oh how stupid they left this and that out. It's gonna suck." I'm pretty sure they had to cut out a lot of stuff to make the movie less as long. For example, in the Fellowship of the Ring movie, they completely left out a whole chapter from the book.

But even so, I find that they shoulda at least kept Metropolis and the Crimebusters name cuz even though it is a small detail, it still would be a good move for the fans. But I can deal with it, it's like a book's movie adaptation. I still think it's gonna be AWESOME!
blacksword7
blacksword7 - 2/21/2009, 10:38 AM
i think the reasons he was left out was because they thought the comedian's conversation with ozzy to be the most important focus of the scene. i also think i heard something like the guy they cast as metropolis is just a stunt man and that he doesn't have any lines in the film. idk if that one's true but with a budget this large, Zack certainly wanted to devote a large amount on the special effects (ex. Mars). there may not have been enough time and money to hire a guy and then take the time to have prosthetics made for the scenes with the crimebusters. there were a lot of factor that led to his exclusion.

Manhatten looks class!..and i like that they have him speaking in his normal human voice, it makes the character all the more tragic..the obvious thing to do would have been to give him a booming godlike voice..i think its perfect.
