As you'll no doubt be well aware, HBO is developing a Watchmen TV series which looks set to serve as a sequel of sorts to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' beloved graphic novel. Unless the cable network is hiding something from us, it doesn't appear as if the show will feature any original characters and will instead be set in an entirely different state, revealing how the rest of America dealt with the fallout.
During a recent interview at the Television Critics Association press tour, HBO programming chief Casey Bloys shared his thoughts on how the pilot is coming together and while he hasn't seen it yet, he definitely sounds confident in Damon Lindelof's ability to deliver a strong series for the cable network.
"I have very, very high hopes," he explained. "They did a great job. Damon [Lindeolf] wrote a phenomenal script, and Nikki Kassell did an amazing job shooting the show. I think we see it in a few weeks. So, we’ll see." He also noted that no decision will be made about HBO picking up the series until network execs get to watch it, so there's nothing to say we'll ever actually get to see the show.
Are you excited to see Watchmen? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on that below.
