you guys are just looking for reasons to give this movie crap. it's a movie not a graphic novel. there will always be changes and i would have thought after all of these years, the geeks would calm down. i think the issue is more that some of you guys have come to prefer, or even accept the comic reality as being more real than the tactile world, any alterations whatsoever to your fantasy realities results in hostility. it's okay to get caught up in the moment, but you have to realize that when it comes down to it, the watchmen are not real. and yes i referred to them the same way this commercial did just so i could emphasize the silliness of freaking out about this. i refer to them as "The watchmen" because i'm talking about their world as a whole. there's a reason it's called "fiction". every time a movie is made, there are always changes to the source material. ALWAYS! and i would like to see more of you be a little more accepting of that. you guys have been fans of the Watchmen novel for years, well, this is the Watchmen movie.

They released information on the Tales of the Black Freighter DVD. They show the cover of it and the special features.

It's at www.watchmencomicmovie.com

If you've never been to the site, it's the best place for Watchmen movie info.

I couldn't have said it better blacksword.

I apply that to EVERY upcoming movie based on any other existing material out there. (which is more than you know)

the problem blacksword is that, the director claims he is being completely faithful to the novel, which so far appears to be untrue.

he never said "completely faithful"

he said as close to the source material than any other comic book/graphic novel.

and if Kevin Smith likes it, then you know it's good. he's the biggest comic book critic ever..he knows what he's talking about, he writes comics himself.

well, that would mean as close to the source material as Sin City, that for me means completely faithful.

Well really he wasnt completely honest, he did say he was being faithful to the graphic novel, i read at least 2 interviews were he said as much. And im sorry to say, that to me means....SQUID!.Now it just so happens that i dont mind that he changed the squid for something else (too much)..but he should have said that from the start

hey ror... admit that you don't mind... yet, I mean if there is no tight explanation surrounding the squidless story, you will have to read my very angry rant.
