ABC President Says They "Are Cooking Up A Couple" Of New MARVEL Series For The Network

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is currently the lone Marvel series on ABC, but based on some comments from the network's entertainment president, there are several new projects in the works. More past the jump.

With the cancellation of Agent Carter and the failure of Inhumans, the only Marvel series currently airing on the ABC network is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And while we can expect some new Marvel projects to pop up on the Disney streaming service, we didn't know if anything new would debut on ABC.

Fortunately, the network's president, Channing Dungey, answered this question while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that there are a few Marvel projects in the works.

"We're cooking up a couple things for broadcast," Dungey explained. "There's one that I want to talk about and [Marvel TV head] Jeph Loeb won't let me."

While no specific project was named, an untitled series from John Ridley and a Damage Control show have all been reported to be in development at one point or another, so this mysterious program could be either of them or something else entirely. Though, they are likely hoping for better results than the defunct Marvel's Most Wanted.

However, new properties weren't the only thing discussed as the president also touched upon the future of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: "It's my hope that by moving it to summer, where our live-same-day ratings are less important and it might be able to continue for longer."

This comment from Dungey matches up with her previous statement, and it will likely ease the minds of fans who are worried Season 6 may be the series' last.

Now, what do you folks think of everything that was said? To share your thoughts leave a comment below.

Considering SHIELD is the best comic book show on TV, its about damn time that they start pushing forward with another Marvel show [let's forget Inhumans ever happened]. Still a bit disappointed that we never got Most Wanted, hope Hunter and Bobbie make a bigger return in SHIELD season 6.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I was never quite sure what direction that show would have taken, which always had me wary. I'd love to see Bobbi and Lance back on the team though!
