After seven seasons and 136 episodes, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., finally closed its doors this past Wednesday with an emotional series finale that brought a satisfying conclusion to Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his ragtag team's nearly decade-long journey.

While Coulson will likely remain dead in the prime Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity, the series finale did leave the door open for a possible continuation of his adventures (if Kevin Feige is so inclined) as he was last seen jetting off in Lola to locations unknown to aid a whole new generation of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Check out all of the post-finale photos below (click-through the thumbnail to view in hi-resolution) and as always, head on over HERE to check out spoiler-y photos from the rest of season seven.

Ever since I found out that Chloe Bennett had been dating Logan Paul, quite possibly the world's biggest douchebag I haven't looked at her the same. Since then, when I'd see her on the show I'd think "What is broken inside her head that she let that happen." lol

@CplHicks - Well at least she didn't let it continue. Look on the bright side, lol

@CplHicks - You should look into the history of why she changed her name from "Wang" to "Bennett".

Made me see her in a whole new light.

Finally, an Agents of SHIELD finale article that isn't opinionated clickbait nonsense.

My thoughts on the final 2 episodes and the end of SHIELD after 7 years, copied from a different article:

That was one hell of a final two episodes. They really went all out, and man did they freaking deliver. Epic final 2 episodes, epic conclusion to the best comic book show, period. The whole infiltration into the Chronicom ships, the rescue and fights, the escape and reunion with Fitz, and the subsequent re-infiltration of the Chronicom ships was great, so thrilling and tense and well done.

When they revealed that hidden room in the bar, and I saw those panels hanging from the ceiling, I knew exactly what we were looking at- same design and concept as what Stark came up with. What a moment it was when Fitz came through in the S5 helmet, god that was glorious. So great to have him back again (and I did enjoy the added Enoch scenes too, even though he had died episode 9, he really was with us in these final 3 episodes). Loved that they connected with Endgame in this way with the usage of the quantum-realm time travel, and it perfectly explained (with a little demonstration from Fitz, lol) just what this season was and how it connected to the original time line. They really did cover all their bases.

And it goes without saying that the VFX work was top notch, cinematic, second to none. That was superior quality VFX that was worthy of standing along the sides of, and hell even rivaling in some cases, VFX work in the MCU movies. These 2 episodes probably had some of the best VFX the show has ever done, and some of the best effects I've ever seen on TV.

I really liked Nathaniel in these final two episodes, thought they were probably his two finest episodes of the season. In terms of a villain, he was a good B or secondary level villain.

They wrapped everything up so well for all of the characters. I said in another comment that I thought they left things a bit open-ended in the sense that I could very well see some or all of this team return down the road, either elsewhere in the MCU or in a reunion mini-series event. And hell they even brought Flint and Piper back, which was a thread that seemed they had forgotten. Just goes to show how much they thought out these two seasons, now you can tell that they planned stuff in the final episodes of S6 knowing what would have in the final episode of S7.

Here's to you, Agents of SHIELD, the best of the best. Its been one hell of an amazing ride with the sow, some of the best television out there over much of the past decade. Not just the best comic book show, but one of the best shows, period. The show has been such a seminal part of my MCU viewing experience, and it (along with say Arrow) has been a big part of my small-screen cinematic joys of my young adult life. And this chapter, of Marvel TV, of the MCU, of television in general, has just come to a close. Thank you, SHIELD.

Gonna miss the team, been a hell of a ride

HeavyMetal4Life - 8/15/2020, 12:24 PM
@BassMan - same. And there is nothing that can take its place and fill in the void that is now present, no comic book shows and no regular shows. SHIELD was special and unique and other team ensemble shows just aren't even in the same boat. SHIELD did stuff on screen that was second to none.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Yeah none of the other comic book network shows work for me, I’ve enjoyed a lot of the streaming shows but AOS was something special. Season 4 was amazing
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 8/18/2020, 12:02 AM
@BassMan - season 4 was flawless, what a masterpiece, still their best season, with season 5 very close behind.

As of now, there is no other comic book show that compares to SHIELD. I really loved Arrow, though for different reasons, but that was second to SHIELD. And that show is over. The other Arrowverse shows are tiers below SHIELD. Doom Patrol faltered with its second season. And while I really like The Boys, its just not the same as SHIELD. This was a show that was far above its peers and did things that no other comic book show, hell few other shows (The Expanse comes to mind as comparable) were able to pull off on screen and with visuals. As you said, this show was something special.

BassMan - 8/18/2020, 4:47 AM
@HeavyMetal4Life - The Boys, The Umbrella Academy, and Doom Patrol are just a completely different animal, SHIELD had long drawn out plots and was more of a traditional CBTV. If you can, check out Swamp Thing. I was quite pleasantly surprised with that one, it’s a beautiful show to watch. Glad to see The Expanse getting love, very happy it got picked back up
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 8/18/2020, 9:49 AM
@BassMan - yes, very different animal. And on top of that, the sense of family and connection between the SHIELD crew also helped set them apart.

If I have time this winter I'll check out Swamp Thing. The fact that it was prematurely canceled killed my interest in it a bit, unfortunately. And yeah, The Expanse is great (though I didn't think s4 quite matched s2 and s3), looking forward to s5. Probably the best team ensemble action show out there now, that I can think of right now.

@KingPatel - potential neat article topic about SHIELD and an idea to connect with The Avengers.

I actually foujnd Season's 5 finale (which, at the time, we thought would be the series finale) far superior and packing much more of an emotional punch than this one.

Top SHIELD main villains, ranging from pretty good (Garrett, Whitehall, Gideon Malick, Nathaniel Malick) to great (Hive, Graviton) to fantastic (Ward, Aida, Kasius). In chronological order:
