Earlier today, we shared the news that Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner is in critical but stable condition following an accident at his home near Reno yesterday. Now, TMZ has shared footage of him being airlifted to safety (if watching that is your type of thing) along with details on what exactly happened.
The actor was reportedly plowing the road about a quarter of a mile from his house so his family could leave following a massive storm on New Year's Eve.
The machine, called a Snowcat, accidentally ran over one of Renner's legs, resulting in him losing a lot of blood. Luckily, one of his neighbours is a doctor, and they were able to put a tourniquet on his leg until paramedics arrived on the scene. The Snowcat has now been impounded by police as safety features mean this should have never happened.
Sources tell the site that the Avengers: Endgame star's injuries are "extensive," with other parts of just body injured along with his leg.
We don't want to speculate too much at this stage, but can't help but wonder if these will end up being life-changing injuries. No further details or comments have been shared by Renner's team, so we're assuming he remains in the same condition (though we certainly hope his health is improving).
The actor, nominated for "Best Actor" at the Oscars for his work in The Hurt Locker and "Best Supporting Actor" the following year for The Town, will surely be best known to many of you for his work in the MCU.
Renner first played Clint Barton/Hawkeye in 2011's Thor, later reprising the role in The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Disney+'s Hawkeye. There's been no news on a possible season 2 or when and where he's next expected to return as the archer in this shared world.
We'll keep you updated, but hope to have good news to share with you soon.
