Marvel Studios has released the first clip from Moon Knight, and all that talk about the Disney+ series featuring a strong horror vibe was clearly no exaggeration. Poor Steven Grant finds himself pursued by Egyptian Moon God Khonshu in this sneak peek, and we should probably warn you now that, yes, there is a jump scare!
Today, critics will get their first look at episodes 1-4 of Moon Knight (you'll need to follow @Josh_Wilding for our reaction), and that could lead to some spoilers finding their way online. The review embargo doesn't lift until March 29, though, so it hopefully won't be too much of a problem.
The first wave of social media reactions to the show were excellent, though it does sound like Marvel Studios is keeping the final two episodes a closely guarded secret, so expect big surprises.
The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.
Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy. Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead directed the episodes (there's no mention of George Clooney). Jeremy Slater is the head writer, and Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Mohamed Diab, Jeremy Slater and Oscar Isaac are the executive producers.
Moon Knight premieres on Disney+ on March 30.
