Moon Knight star Gaspard Ulliel has sadly passed away aged 37 following a serious ski accident. It was reported earlier today that the actor had been transported by helicopter on Tuesday following an accident in the Alps involving some sort of collision on the slopes in the Savoie region.
Ulliel's family and agents have confirmed that he passed away due to those injuries, news that comes shortly after he was said to be in serious condition with a skull injury.
The César award-winning actor is known for roles in Twice Upon a Time, Hannibal Rising, and It’s Only The End Of The World among others. He's also the face of the Chanel fragrance Bleu de Chanel. While there had been speculation he might be playing Frenchie in Moon Knight, it's since been reported that he was actually cast as the villainous Midnight Man.
Deadline notes that "Mountain police have been responding to multiple accidents in the region due to hard snow and ice on the slopes." On Saturday, a 5-year-old girl died after a skier crashed into her in the same region in an unrelated incident.
Needless to say, our thoughts go out to Gaspard's friends and family. The actor wasn't featured in this week's Moon Knight trailer, but there's a lot of excitement among fans to see what he brings to the table as Midnight Man. However, the French film More Than Ever is likely to be the final time we see him on screen.
