Moon Knight brought its first (only?) season to a close last Wednesday with an exciting finale, and Marvel Studios has now shared some new spoiler stills and a clip from the episode.

"Gods and Monsters" featured its share of surprises, and these images spotlight the fearsome crocodile-headed deity known as Ammit, Marc Spector returning to rescue Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac x 2) from the Dualt, and Layla (May Calamawy) donning a superhero persona of her own as the Scarlet Scarab.

The last still of Khonshu is from the post-credits scene, but conspicuous by his absence is Spector's other persona, Jake Lockley, who was revealed to be responsible for the former mercenary's most ruthless acts over the course of the season.

Check out the images below along with a clip featuring the Scarlet Scarab in action.

Moon Knight may not return for a second season, but we will see the Fist of Khonshu again at some point. The next iteration of The Avengers is one possibility, as is the rumored Midnight Sons project.

How do you guys think Marc Spector will make his return to The MCU?

This was a bad finale let's be real

@McMurdo - Rushed in places, yes. But bad? Nah. It was a satisfactory conclusion for Marc and Steven's arcs.
If anything, I wanted more - and if a story by the end leaves you wanting more, then the filmmakers/writers/directors did something right.

@repulse93 - I liked up to the finale

@McMurdo - Wasn't a fan of the battle but the post credit scene made it worth it.

@JuanRGuijarro - I love when people use the term "Nobody cares" in articles that have people discussing why they care. It's almost like you are saying "Give me attention!". It sounds desperate.

@Waddles - ah the M word, well we can say it I just choose not to, brings us back 30 years (pre Blade), but to each their own, but HIM… you know what yes he’s now an honorary Marveltard, such a special occasion I just had to say it! Marveltard. Ah that felt good, that felt good.

OT: the girl down the hall at my hotel is engaged. But I know her name now! Couple more incidental smoke breaks and I’ll become a smoker! And not much else

@SonOfAGif - I say, only marveltards cared. the show was a flop with major audiences

@JuanRGuijarro - Isn't the major audiences for these shows and movies the very people you called "Marveltard"? Make it make sense please.

The fact that the show was in no way epic, it’s very difficult to consider any of the images epic.

I had much higher hopes for Moon Knight but you can’t have a super hero show with barely any appearance by the super hero,

@SpaceParanoids - For me it was the opposite. Moon Knigt has its flaws, but to me, choosing to be tamed in terms of action and spectacle isn't one of them. I actually welcome it if the runtime can be exploited for more interesting stuff like character dynamics and impactful backstories.

@Fares - There is a way of doing both. Marvel did not strike that balance.

@SpaceParanoids - Of course, more action is welcome if it's inserted in the right place and it's not the same old bland moves and camera work. But I didn't come out of the series thinking "you know what? That needed more action", so the balance was struck for me personally.

I guess I should add to the negativity.

I'm mad marvel didn't use a real alligator instead of a cgi alligator goddess. Need more practical effects

One question I do have - how did Harrow make contact with Ammit and/or get his powers in the first place?
GhostDog
GhostDog - 5/9/2022, 5:20 PM
@repulse93 - that’s something they should’ve gone into more detail on but as a former avatar of Khonshu and someone already steeped in that world, it probably wasn’t difficult for him to make contact
