She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will include a few different supporting characters from Jennifer Walters' corner of the Marvel Universe, though we've not seen a whole lot of them in the trailers and TV spots. Renée Elise Goldsberry, for example, is playing Mallory Book, while Arrow alum Josh Segarra has been cast as lawyer Augustus "Pug" Pugliese.
The latter recently appeared at the special launch event for the Disney+ series, and shared some insights into what brings Pug into She-Hulk's world.
"He is paying his way through law school by being a bouncer at clubs. One night, he gets saved by Spider-Man. He gets jumped and he gets saved," the actor explains. "So, he decides to dedicate himself to superhero law. He wants to protect superheroes. That's who Pug is."
"He's here. He's perfected his craft. Best lawyer in the world and then gets to meet his hero, She-Hulk. Let's go!"
It's worth noting that we've previously heard that Spider-Man (and any other characters tied to the wall-crawler) weren't allowed to be included in the show. With that in mind, we probably won't see Pug's origin story and there's a chance it won't be explained, since Segarra is basically recounting what happened to his character in the comics, and it may not necessarily be part of the series.
Still, it would be fun for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law to make reference to Spidey somehow as the character has rarely been mentioned in the MCU outside of his own movies and those he's appeared in. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was an exception as it poked fun at his powers, though the sequel failed to reference Spider-Man: No Way Home beyond that.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premieres on Disney+ on August 18.
