WHAT IF...? Poster Teases Marvel Zombies And A World Where Earth's Mightiest Heroes Have Fallen

Marvel Studios has shared a new poster for What If...?, and this one is teasing the small screen debut of Marvel Zombies! This certainly looks like a world where things have ended poorly for The Avengers.

What If...? is just a few days away from hitting Disney+ (the first episode arrives on August 11), and we now have another new poster for the show.

This time, the spotlight is put squarely on Marvel Zombies, a version of Earth's Mightiest Heroes who became flesh eating monsters after being exposed to a virus. We're not sure how their story will play out on this world (whether they'll retain their intelligence, for example), but it seems they've laid waste to this reality.

Some Avengers have survived, though, and we know Spider-Man, Bucky, and Scott Lang (well, his head) will be attempting to stop them in this instalment. As of right now, we don't know when exactly it will be released in What If...?'s nine episode run.

"'What If…?' flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways," teases the brief synopsis for Marvel Studios' first animated TV series.

"Coming to Disney+ in summer 2021, Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU," it continues, "featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles. The series is directed by Bryan Andrews; Ashley Bradley is head writer."

@Ha1frican - I know! How far we've come!

Perhaps between Multiverse of Madness, Sam Raimi's involvement, and What If...maybe down the road we will get a special movie adaptation or Disney+ series of Marvel Zombies with Ash!

these 'official' fan posters rarely look good. tfatws ones were actually decent, unlike this jumbled mess.

@rebellion - Yeah, this one is just straight-up muddy. I know it's zombies and ish, but it's ugly as hell.

@rebellion - While I absolutely agree with you, it must also be incredibly fulfilling for an artist to receive comissions and recognition by Marvel. Regardless of the quality of the work, kudos to Marvel for supporting them.

Not BossLogic, though. He's a hack.

Hopefully they aren’t just snarling zombies with fighting skills, since the dark humor of Kirkman's Marvel Zombies came from them still having their personalaties, just with more "open mind" to eat people.

was never a big fan of the marvel zombies run, DCeased or zombies in general, so this is just one of those episodes I'm not looking forward to. Poster looks like low effort BossLogic work.
