Multiple outlets are reporting that Luke Perry passed away today after being hospitalized this past Wednesday for what is said to have been a massive stroke. He was 52.

Perry is best known for playing Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210 but he also appeared in the likes of Oz, The Fifth Element and the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie. More recently, he had a recurring role as Archie Andrews' father Fred on The CW's Riverdale.

Perry's final big-screen appearance will be in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, playing the real-life Canadian-American actor Wayne Maunder.

Luke is survived by his daughter Sophie and his son Jack, who is a pro-wrestler known as “Jungle Boy” Nate Coy.

@DENNISsystem - The tv show was miles and miles better than the film but I always had a soft spot for the movie. That scene always made smile.

That's depressing. He was one of the only bright spots in Riverdale. I really grew to appreciate him. RIP

This is sad, the guy was really good and was probably going to have a big comeback in once upon a time in Hollywood. I've never seen 90120, so I only knew him from Riverdale were he really shined as Archies dad.

As I get older my health is starting to become a bigger thing to me and the thought of having a stroke out of the blue scares the hell out of me.

RIP Luke Perry.
