STARGIRL Season Two Gets An August Premiere Date While SUPERGIRL Set To Air Final Episodes This Fall

The CW has finally set a premiere date for Stargirl season two and has also announced a return date for the final thirteen episodes of Supergirl's six-season run, both of which will arrive in mid-August.

Following a stellar freshman outing, The CW has finally announced that Stargirl, which stars Brec Bassinger in the title role, will return for its eagerly-awaited second season on Tuesday, August 10 at 8pm EST, where it'll be paired with the backhalf of Superman & Lois season one.

Additionally, the network has set a return date for Kara Danvers' (Melissa Benoist) last flight, with Supergirl set to fly back onto our screens for its final thirteen episodes on Tuesday, August 24, which very likely sets the stage for the series finale to air on November 16.

While neither series will be back until mid-August, there will still be plenty of DC Comics-based adventures on your television this summer with Superman & Lois coming back on May 18 and DC's Legends of Tomorrow set to return this coming Sunday, with the second half of the season coming July 11 after a brief hiatus.

In other news, Walker is back July 15 and Riverdale returns with the rest of season five on August 11.

No word on whether the DC TV slate will resume a normal schedule starting this fall, but with production expected to be ongoing throughout the summer, it seems quite possible that both The Flash and Superman & Lois could return for their respective eighth and second seasons much sooner than anticipated.

Stargirl will back on CW this time, *gulp*

I want to be optimistic, now they can depend on a bigger budget and in terms of VFX it could be an improvement plus everything else (like the writing department) should be the same so we kinda got the best of both worlds, we'll see, fingers crossed.

Stargirl season 1 was really surprisingly good. I was hoping that season 2 would come out earlier in the summer, but this is fine.

This is on HBO nowadays so I gave it a watch. I was surprised by how much I liked it despite not being familiar with the character at all. Lately I've been reading info about the comics and seems like Stargirl is one of the most comic accurate live action adaptations ever made. Geoff Johns created the character and is the showrunner and it definitely shows. I feel like Stargirl has been flying under the radar, hopefully Season 2 will be more popular among general audience.

Since it technically is now a CW show, I'll say it is the best of the CW shows by far, when compared to the lineup it was on last year. Now it will have company with Superman & Lois as the only good shows left.
