In its most recent developer update video, Rocksteady revealed a ton of new information on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The game will be divided into seasons, with season 1 starting in March and plans for content up to season 4 currently in the works.

The Joker is the new character joining Task Force X in season 1, and it appears that the game will introduce a free, playable character with each new season.

After winning the game, players can participate in new endgame content that will take them to Elseworlds, or parallel universes. And it appears that the crew will encounter an alternate take on the Joker on one of the first planets/realities they visit.

Gamers should remember that the Arkhamverse games are the setting for Kill the Justice League and that Joker has been dead for quite some time in that universe. This younger version of Gotham's Clown Prince of Crime is only just beginning his criminal career when Brainiac attacks.

After 4 Arkham games (3 by Rocksteady), They've decided to make a game Suicide Squad game, set in Metropolis.

Characters. Harley, Joker, Deadshot, Victoria Freeze, Lawless (being played by Deadshots daughter).

Poison Ivy gives you grenades.

Penguin gives you weapons.

Why is this game set in Metropolis? It's just Batman characters, in a different city. TF is the point? Why not use characters fr om the rest of the League? Why is everyone Batman related?

@kazuma - WB makes bank on Batman and they barely trust any other hero. I really wish that would change

This is straight up Fortnite in a DC skin. As a middle aged guy who used to be a gamer and never got into fortnite, there’s no way someone could tell me this isn’t the case. From the chaotic gameplay to calling DLC Seasons…just awful stuff.

If they're going to do an elseworlds Joker, don't do Joker at all. That is so dumb.

Also, he glides around the city using an umbrella? Wtf? He's not Penguin.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - A lot of writers don't understand the Joker anymore. Many modern iterations come off as try-hard, and it's cringe. It's like the only version they saw was Jared Leto's, and they try to replicate that.

I'm really curious to see how this game plays but will wait to read reviews and watch actual gameplay footage before putting down any money for it. Rocksteady are a solid studio, but I can't help but get Avenger's vibes from this in that it is mainly intended as a 'games as a service' game rather than something that can be enjoyed as a fully single player experience. I like that they're trying something different with the 'Arkham-verse', but I don't want it to feel like it comes across that they're profit hunting over delivering on a fun to play game.

If Elseworlds versions were an option they should have used the Injustice version. No reason other than it would have been a cool nod to the other game

Out of all the possible choices you could have for a Suicide Squad game you end up going with Joker as your first character? So mant different options and clearly not limited but don't go with Deathstroke or Killer Frost? This is like Avengers dropping Bucky as a character, weird choices.
I reckon this was mandated
