With The Game Awards right around the corner, rumors of a new Batman game are starting to swirl once again. Speculation of a new Batman came has been going on for a while, with Batman: Arkham Origins developer Warner Bros. Games Montréal dropping cryptic teasers back in September. Nothing came of this at the time, which was just before PlayStation's State of Play event.

In October, the rumors picked up again with details that the new game would be called Batman: Arkham Legacy and that it would feature the Court of Owls as the villains (tying into the previous WB Games Montréal teasers). Again, nothing came of it at the time.

Now, with The Game Awards less than three weeks away, rumblings of a reveal have started up again. YouTube Channel SLCMOF reports that Batman: Arkham Legacy will be unveiled at The Game Awards and while it's easy to write this off as nothing more than speculation, he does back up his claim by saying the information comes from "the same guy that provided me with leaked images from the canceled Damian Wayne Batman game YEARS before they leaked to the public. He is very reliable, although nothing is 100%"

The Arkham Channel added further credibility and support to the rumor, also noting that the source is reliable.

If a new Batman game were to be announced, The Game Awards would be the perfect time to do it as it's the last major gaming event of the year. The Game Awards takes place on December 12. The annual award show, hosted by industry veteran Geoff Keighley, is known for its exciting game reveals and surprising announcements.

@Krav - Flying around as Batman in a Cyberpunk 2077-esque Gotham. It would take the franchise to another level.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - As much as I want to see other DC characters getting the chance to shine in a video game, I can't help, but see huge potential in that game. The reason being the whole concept alone of Gotham now being Cyberpunk is something different and having Bruce Wayne being in an Oracle position, with helping Terry would be great fun to see, plus play.

Nothing against Batman seeing as he is easily one of my favorite DC characters and the biggest DC money maker, yet I can't help, but wonder what a Flash, Superman, Green Lantern or Wonder Woman game could look like.

Infamous: Second Son showed an open world speedster game can work, so why not Flash, too?

A Superman game could be great. I'd say look at Megaton Rainfall and have the villains being Brainiac drones instead. You wouldn't even need to depower Superman, just make it so if, too many buildings get destroyed, he fails.

I personally would love to see a Green Lantern Corps game that is like the original concept for Anthem, before EA turned it, into a Destiny clone, instead. Just imagine what you could do flying around in an open world Green Lantern Corps game and you know it could be phenomenal.

For Wonder Woman don't be afraid to have the game inspired by God of War, but instead of an ax, Diana would have a lasso and shield. Just imagine fighting on Olympus or Themyscira and taking down Circe in a boss battle, to fighting another boss battle with Giganta.

It just is crazy, us gamers haven't gotten anything else with DC, when you know the other DC characters could be just as successful in video game format as Batman.

I guess AT&T just wants to keep playing it safe and not see what DC could do with their other characters.

I can't remember the last time there was a gaming event coming up and there weren't rumours of "that new Batman game" being announced.

Can we let Green Lantern, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, The Question, Black Lightning, or literally any other character get the Arkham treatment instead?
