Bryan Singer Confirms That X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Will Be Shot In 3D

Time travel clearly wasn't the only thing that Bryan Singer was discussing with Avatar's James Cameron recently. The director has now confirmed that X-Men: Days of Future Past will be shot in 3D. Hit the jump for further details!

In a recent interview with Cinema Blend, Bryan Singer has confirmed that he will shoot X-Men: Days of Future Past in 3D. The director recently revealed that he had sought the advice of James Cameron in regards to making the time travel aspects of the sequel to Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class work, but it now seems fair to say that the subject of 3D also more than likely came up. "I'll probably use some of the motion-capture technology for certain things [in Days of Future Past]. And of course the 3D technology. I'll be shooting native stereo on X-Men." As for that motion-capture technology (which Singer has familiarised himself with for Jack The Giant Slayer), there have been rumours of an all-CG mutant, but I would bet on it being used for the Sentinels. Are you looking forward to seeing the world of the X-Men in three dimensions? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place and click on the link below for more from the director.

As long as 2D screens are available I'll never watch a movie in the 3D because I am a cheap bastard.

Anytime I watch a 3d movie I get a headache and just cant enjoy the movie because for some reason my eyes cannot focus on the screen, and It is just uncomfortable to watch them with my contact glasses and 3d glasses on top of that.

CYCLOPS WILL NOT BE IN THIS MOVIE!! you want to know why? Because IT'S EXACTLY WHAT THE FANS WANT and Fox purposely goes out of their way to not give fans what they want. Haven't any of you learned from these lame Fox-men films. The cartoons have more balls and adult themes than the movies! what a joke....

I DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN with this franchise. As a producer he might be alright, but as a director he has been pretty weak. Im disapointed that Matthew Vaughn isnt staying in the directors seat. Also I think rogue and Halle Berry made those xmen films a lot worse than they should have been. im gonna hope he takes a cue from vaughn and pulls something off.

This terrifies me. Once X-Men get locked into Days of Future Past, there is no getting beyond it. Look at how long it has been a tent pole for them in the comics. Every time they decide to do something new, we get pulled back to Days of Future Past.

I wonder if he'll go through with 48fps like McKellan speculated. Either way, I'm actually looking forward to this... probably my most anticipated of 2014. It's the Sentinels, finally, it's worth a look.

You know, I remember reading that James Cameron was up for an X-Men feature till Stan Lee persuaded him to try out Spider-Man instead. Reading in this article that Bryan Singer talked to James Cameron about the story (and the 3D) makes me even more confident in this. And just thinking about that makes me wonder how awesome a James Cameron X-Men feature would be, especially with Cable and Apocalypse.

@jCameron Yeah, I guess. I think he's too talented for Green Lantern, though. X-Men is right up his alley, though. Plus Uncanny X-Men is probably like the greatest comic book ever, and of course he's one of the greatest Sci-Fi Action directors, ever. Plus Cable is like a Terminator to me, so I could only dream of an Cable versus Apocalypse film by him.
