2x Academy Award-nominee Jessica Chastain stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon today to debut the brand new trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix the presumed final chapter in 20th Century Fox's long-running X-Men franchise as the studio prepares for its impending acquisition by the House of Mouse.

While many anticipated a full-length trailer, the TV broadcast only featured the first thirty seconds with Chastain's mysterious character recruiting the soon-to-be most powerful mutant of them all, Jean Grey (Sophie Turner).

Luckily, following that, 20th Century Fox did officially debut the awesome theatrical trailer, expected to play ahead of Marvel's Captain Marvel next weekend, and it features tons of action-packed new footage as Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and the rest of our mutant favorites band together to bring an end to the greatest threat they've ever seen.

The trailer also confirms a massive character death, so here's a SPOILER alert before you click play:

Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all the people living in the world.
