Comic book connection, yes
Charlie's Angels has had many comic strips in the past, oh and lets not forget the important
Smallville connection either.
ABC & Sony TV has tapped the
Smallville creators for writing the new script for the network’s planned reboot television series of the classic
Charlie’s Angels. Originally the TV project was set up with Josh Friedman as a writer and a pilot commitment at ABC in November. The pilot didn't go any further than that and is now being reworked for off-cycle pilot order consideration.
Deadline reports Al Gough and Miles Millar will be writing the series through the two-year overall deal that they recently signed with Sony TV. They will be serving as executive producers with a bonus of working alongside the original
Charlie’s Angels producer Leonard Goldberg and also Drew Barrymore and producing partner Nancy Juvonen (
Charlie's Angels movies).
Millar and Gough are the guys who created
Smallville which is based (well loosely) on the DC Comics Superman characters and ran the WB series for the first eight seasons.
Two British comic strip versions of
Charlie's Angels were produced. The first appeared in the Polystyle publication Target in April 1978, drawn by John Canning. Target was a sister title to the long-running TV Comic aimed at older children and featuring TV action and crime shows of the day. Proving unpopular, it folded in August and merged back into TV Comic where Canning's Angels strip continued until October 1979. The second strip was printed in Junior TV Times Look-in, debuting in November 1979 (as soon as Polystyle's deal expired), written by Angus Allan and drawn by Jim Baikie and Bill Titcombe.

LEEE777 - This could be good, though personally i think the franchise was done with the feature films that were recently made. I can't help to think, why not a
Danger Girl live-action series ABC? Still as long as they don't do what they've done with Superman and have the series set before their all Charlie's Angels, it could be a must watch every week.
