Animation looks slightly better than vs the Elite. But from the trailer it doesn't seem like the story will hold up anywhere near as well.

Brainiac looks cool. He should have been the villain in the sequel to Superman Returns. Oh well, maybe if Man of Steel does well (key word: MAYBE) then they could use him.

When this comes out on DVD, I shall have a joygasm. Not happy with John Noble though - but it's freakin BRAINIAC!

And yes, he does need to be featured in the rebooted series, and yes, he does look a little like J'onn with the prominent brow.

Anybody else think that the blue on Superman's suit looks very similar to the dark/blue grey on the Man of Steel suit?

Coincidence?
I wouldn't be surprised if after Man of Steel comes out and does well that a lot of new Superman stuff will start to resemble the Man of Steel look.

I've always said "I don't care for the artwork" when I see the trailers (especially for 'vs the elite') but when I see the film I end up loving it.

This ought to be the art team used for a new Superman cartoon.

@JohnnyKrypton
I haven't read the story--what was so fanfic about it?

Well, I guess it's no spoiler since that universe no longer exists...

Johns retconned Brainiac as blowing up Krypton

Kinda tired of all the Batman and Superman animated films. I'm not saying they're not good, they really are, but I would like to see a Plastic Man movie, or a movie based on Blackest Night. Perhaps an Identity Crisis movie. So many great DC story lines, but enough of the single Batman and Superman films please. At least for awhile. That said...this looks pretty cool and I'll see it and will probably buy it. =)

@IronLantern79, They're making a Flashpoint movie, I don't when it's coming out, but it's the story that lead up to (and began)the new 52 universe. It's focus is on The Flash, but you probably know this. I'm just bringing it up because that is something else besides a straight up Batman or Superman film.

@JohnnyKrypton
Didn't an AI Brainiac do that in Superman: The Animated Series?

@SnapperCarr
I always thought that would work much better as a TV series, on a different network other than CN. Maybe TBS...

@Splenda - The problem I see with Brainiac being in the sequel is that it's an alien invasion followed by a previous alien invasion; that tends to get redundant after a while(not to mention cliche). This is why they should've used Brainiac for the first one instead of Zod(not complaining too much),but he can't just be fighting alien invasion after alien invasion back to back. I would go with Lex Luthor, Bizarro and Metallo in the sequel, Brainiac (and) or Doomsday for the third film.

@FlixMentallo21

Nah, he didn't cause it, just covered it up so no one would believe Jor-El. But that version has nothing to do wiith the comic version to begin with. Forcing it into the DCU proper opend huge plotholes and diminished the entire mythology. Johns also decided that every time Brainiac and Superman have faced off since COIE, it was never the real Brainiac.
