ANT-MAN & THE WASP Poster Heads To The Quantum Realm; TV Spot Reveals Where Scott Has Been Since CIVIL WAR

Tickets for Ant-Man and The Wasp are now on sale and not only do we have a TV spot exploring what Scott Lang was up to before Avengers: Infinity War but a cool new poster taking us to the Quantum Realm...

Ant-Man and The Wasp is right around the corner and with tickets now on sale, Marvel has unveiled a new TV spot and poster for the highly anticipated sequel. There's plenty of never before seen footage in this sneak peek as we learn that Scott Lang's two years on house arrest have consisted of him just hanging around the house not doing much at all (gotta love those damn Sokovia Accords, right?).

It also sounds like he may not have seen Hank Pym or Hope during that time, something which explains why she's so angry about what he got up to in Captain America: Civil War (something The Wasp enjoys making a joke out of at one point in this TV spot when she references Scott's new pal, Steve Rogers).

Fandango has also released a new poster which will be made available to fans who buy tickets through them. As you can see, it features the titular heroes shrunken down within the Quantum Realm as they attempt to track down the missing Janet Van Dyne. What do you guys think of this latest look at the upcoming Ant-Man sequel? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

Is this the quantum realm? They're the size of popcorn...

@capcyclopsftw - they are walking across the theater floor after a showing of A4. If you look really closely you can see a mild dud with lint all over it.

@Goldboink - What?
Goldboink
Goldboink - 6/18/2018, 11:54 AM
@ftf530 - That is not the quantum realm. It is the grubby floor of a theater with popcorn on it. If you look really closely you can see a linty Milk Dud in the foreground. The only quantum thing about it is if they were in an alternate reality and it was after a showing of Avengers 4.

Trippy huh!

@Goldboink - AH! my bad. You wrote "mild dud" on the first comment and that's where I got confused cause, you know, how a film can be a dud, and people get all up in arms about these lower stakes ones like ant man, I've literally heard the phrase "mild dud" before in that context

Bill Foster will be the real villain and Ghost is working for him. It'll come out he did something to Janet's suit that made it so she couldn't grow and got stuck in the Quantum Realm. The end will be Wasp vs Ghost and Giant Man vs Goliath. Scott will probably get some help from some giant ants at the end.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is a mix of road movie, search-and-rescue movie, action movie, and romantic comedy. Director Peyton Reed explained that when he first started figuring out what this movie would look and feel like, things like After Hours and Midnight Run came to mind. The urgency comes from the mission to rescue Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). “It’s an impossible thing scientifically, but also if there’s urgency and there’s maybe a window of time they have to do it. It’s about collecting the people, the things, everything they need to do that.” Reed also added, “The first movie, really, the template was more of a heist movie and this wanted to be a little more of like an Elmore Leonard vibe where we have villains, but we also have antagonists, and we have these roadblocks to our heroes getting to where they need to be, and getting what they need for this mission.” On top of that, Reed teased that some of Ant-Man and the Wasp will feel like a two-hander action movie and other parts more along the lines of a two-hander romantic comedy.

@aflynn - Hope has her own mission in the movie. Right at the start, Reed and his team decided this movie isn’t Ant-Man with the Wasp. It’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. Reed further explained, “The mission that is happening with her, entirely separate of Scott, is vital. And it’s her mission. It’s not her dad’s mission. It’s her mission.” He continued, “Hank and Hope are working together, but it’s really Hope leading in charge, and that was an important thing when we started talking about what was going on, is the what and why of this mission.”

@aflynn - This is primarily a movie about finding Janet van Dyne. Over the course of the set visit, we heard a lot about different missions, villains vs. antagonists, and then some, but when Reed spoke to us, he confirmed, “The big mission is to find Janet. What that means ultimately for our characters on a personal level is one thing. What it means for the larger world is another thing. And all the other things are really, you know, stumbling blocks on the path.”

@BlindWedjat - I agree! Some of the ants look a little rubbery, but on balance they do an excellent job with the visual effects! I am surprised this does not play like a traditional Disney live action film. It is tailor made for kids!

@BlindWedjat - They do!

The first even shares a little with Doctor Strange - I'd like to know if anyone else noticed - but in the first ant-man, a lot of the images when he travels to the quantum realm are the same if not hyper similar to parts of when Strange trips through the multiverse.

I've been thinking about this since everyone was meme-ing that song Shooting Stars - and infinity war informed my curiosity about it more - what if Strange didn't actually die, and he just faked disappearing to hide within the part of the multiverse scott knows as the quantum realm?

Would be a fun twist to use to bring back strange later into infinity war.

@ftf530 - They are kinda similar in certain ways, especially with the dimensional shit. And they did get the guy that did the effects for Dr. Strange (and the first Guardians) to do the effects for Ant-Man and the Wasp, so I won't be surprised if we see more of that.
