A Connection Between Sam Worthington and The Avengers?

Is the Terminator: Salvation and Avatar star trying to send a message?

In the image above Sam Worthington is wearing a trendy T-shirt sporting Earth's Mightiest Heroes - The AVENGERS!

Here's the post from MTV splashpage:
Since we know Worthington is no stranger to comics these days (he recently signed on to produce and star in an adaptation of Rick Remender's "The Last Days of American Crime" series), we couldn't help but wonder if Worthington is trying to send us a message. After all, Marvel's still looking for actors to play Captain America and Hawkeye last we checked.

Yup! We're desperate to hear AVENGERS news. I would like to hear news from the Captain America camp. I'm not particularly sure if Worthington is "worthy" to wield Cap's shield--even though he's Hollywood's "It" guy this days.

-access out. Godspeed!

I'm thinking that's a stretch. By this logic, every Tom, Dick and Harry that has bought an Avengers shirt from Walmart is up for the role of Cap.

Yeah maybe it's a little "[frick] you" to all the Ackle maniacs out there. I honestly wouldn't mind Worthington as Cap although 'i will agree with some saying that Captain America needs to be american. Eckhart for Cap!!

its a shirt...you guys are over thinking things. If he does play the Cap then im all for it, he was good in Terminator 4 and he will do great in AVATAR(ITS NOT A COMIC BOOK MOVIE, QUIT POSTING THINGS ON IT HERE!).

Just watch Terminator Salvation, He's Cap.

I agree with Ozy. Just think of how many stars get on the web to read news and rumors about themselves. Most likely alot of people.

Its a shirt for God's sake!!

Marvel wouold never cast an Australian as Captain America - he can barely hold an American accent for more than a few minutes at a time!

And why the hell does he guy have the same bland haircut in every single movie he does!?! Terminator - shaved, Avatar - shaved, Clash of the Titan - shaved...his hair is about as exciting as he is as an actor! ;D

I really doubt it means anything. Good thing too. I'm not going to go into detail as to why he's horribly wrong for the role, as I already have many times, but Worthington is not Captain America.

JoshWilding - 12/3/2009, 5:28 PM
OZY: What the hell are you playing at, copying my pictures and choices for your Avengers fan cast? You've gone on to the cast I did a few months ago and copied every single picture I made as well as the actors I chose!!!

pretty sure he is just wearing a shirt......definatly not front page news

Honestly guys....c'mon....this was all about a T-shirt?? LOL...

I agree, this is nothing to get excited about or angry about. It's just a t-shirt, nothing more.

This atricle (if you can call it that) was one big tease. But for the record, he can keep his accent in check and would make a decent Captain America.

Phinehas - 12/3/2009, 5:43 PM
OMG, you guys can get nutty over a Tshirt. LOL

Again, Whispery Worthington is unproven. If anything he has proven that his Aussie accent slips too much. But granted, in Salvation they never expressly said he was an "American" convict.

OZY: Yeah, no offence but I dont really care - if you're not going to use your own images then you should delete the article or because you've also chosen the exact same actors for each of the roles! I have NO problem with someone using the same actors (it would be insane if I did as loads of us agree) or even borrowing a few of the images I've made but at the moment your Avengers cast is basically my cast with your name on it! Poor show dude.

As I'm sure anyone here who also does a lot of fan casts can understand, after all the time and effort it takes to make them its downright [frick]ing annoying when someone basically goes on to your cast and copies and pastes it into their own!

IMO he would be a kick-ass Hawkeye.

Cap Needs to be played by a American. But if he plays Cap,Im fine.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 12/3/2009, 5:53 PM
ThalesNJ: Huh, I've never considered him for Hawkeye...I guess I could see that working (though I would much prefer to see Renner, Ackles or Pine play that particular character) Hell, maybe he's up for the role of Hank Pym! Again, he wouldnt be my first choice but I'd accept him if it would mean we'd be able to see Giant Man in The Avengers!

Kes: Uh oh - I forgot about LEE...he wont let us hear the end of this bit of news, lol! :D
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 12/3/2009, 5:54 PM
Please God know!

Athismo help!

Satan you owe me one!

Please don't let this be true! He would blow as Cap.

And he can't be Cap for two very important reasons

1.)He is relatively unproven as an actor.

2.)HE IS NOT AMERICAN!

I hopeto God (and all the above) that LEEE777 doesn't read this!

HAWK out
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 12/3/2009, 5:55 PM
BTW, he would be an okay Hawkeye, if they go the Ultimates route, but he is all wrong for the classic Hawkeye.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 12/3/2009, 5:58 PM
OZY: I appreciate that, thank you. As I said above, I have no problem with you choosing the same actors or borrowing my pictures but doing both with all of them in one article is kind of taking the piss man! No hard feelings.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 12/3/2009, 5:59 PM
OZY: Wait....what!?! I was pissed (and rightly so to be fair) that you basically stole my fan cast and passed it off as your own but I and nobody else ever said that they hated you! As I said in my last comment - no hard feelings!

Steve Burton should be Cap.

When is a t shirt a hint at casting? It's an interview...he just happens to be wearing a chill shirt. I mean if an actor wears an armani shirt to an interview does that also mean he's going to be their next spokesmen?
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 12/3/2009, 6:03 PM
OZY: Well I am mad at you but not that mad, lol! :P

Based on his performance in Terminator, I actually can't think of any comic character I would like to see him as. Not that he was shit, he just wasn't...not shit either! So, if he does a good job in the hundreds of movies he has coming up, based on his look in Clash I think he could be a good Ares.

rockstar728 - 12/3/2009, 6:04 PM
he definitely wishes! his accent keeps slipping through though. i'd take matt damon or scott porter over him.
