AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Tickets Placed Third In Advance Fandango Sales Behind EPISODE VII & VIII

When the final box office tally is all said and done, what do you think Avengers: Infinity War will gross? Fans in North America will get their first chance to see if the highly anticipated superhero film lives up to the hype later tonight as Thursday previews kick off.

If you procrastinated, the odds of securing a ticket this evening (and even tomorrow evening) are slim to none.  Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis relayed in a press release, "Avengers: Infinity War enters theaters this weekend as the most anticipated movie of the year.  Fueled by tremendous advance ticket sales and positive word of mouth, Marvel Studios’ biggest and most ambitious movie ever will deliver a big-screen event that fans won’t want to miss."

Avengers: Infinity War surpassed Black Panther to become Fandango's best-selling superhero film ever in advance ticket sales, but fell short of the last two offerings from Disney's other blockbuster franchise as both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi remain 1 and 2 in the record books.

Be sure to come back to the site later today to share your thoughts and observe this momentous occasion with your fellow CBMers.

@TheLight - some reviewers dumped on it due to it being too much for them to digest... and lowered the rotten scores in doing so below 90. Now i see it is starting to progress back up. was 85 yesterday, then 86 and now stands at 87. from what the other reviewers are saying i could easily see its RT score go back into the 90s.

@JonC - Yeah, mostly because the film was basically trying to conclude many storylines that were left open in previous films. You'll see with a certain Thunder God scene. But overall, the movie's RT score will definitely remain fresh and will rise during the weekend.

The B.O. is strong. A record is on its way...

IW will break many B.O. records but that is not what the conversation is about. The MCU proved that when things are planned ahead, these are the results.

Disney SW will keep on making money due to the hyperbole and the visuals but their products will not stand the test of time. The best example is the LJ; the score keeps going down, down, down.

Yoda: "Visuals, visuals you say" That's all that Disney SW will offer.

But I digress, my respects to everyone at MARVEL. keep up the good work. Your films will be part of the collective thought!

Disney must be gutted that it came third.

Saying that it could still out gross both of them.
