Guess How Much AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR May Cost Disney And Marvel Studios?

It's expected for Marvel and Disney to go all-out for the two-part Infinity War that will be the "end of the team as we know it," but now may know roughly how much cash the studios are dishing out to bring the Avengers vs Thanos showdown to the big-screen. Check it out!

The highly-anticipated culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War, will not only see Earth's mightiest heroes finally face-off with the mad titan Thanos, but also the end of the superhero team as we know it. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Marvel Studios and Disney are aiming for a massive-scale, epic spectacle. And while there was early indication of this when it was announced that the 2018/19 two-part event would be the first movies ever shot entirely with IMAX cameras, we may now know exactly how much cash the studios are dishing out.

According to Bleeding Cool, who learned the following "in huddled conversations with very well sourced comic book film insiders in New York bars last night," Avengers: Infinity War - Part I and Part II will have a "combined production budget of one billion dollars." Crazy right? Apparently four hundred million dollars of that billion alone will go to the screenwriters, directors, producers and principal cast members. Oh, also Robert Downey Jr. apparently gets "half of the actor budget."

What makes matters even more insane is that there is no script yet completed nor is there a finalized plot, despite screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely signing on back in May after completing Captain America: Civil War. Of course, we know the premise of Infinity War involves Thanos gathering the six infinity stones and the Avengers intervening. Anyhow, take all of what's being reported above with a grain of salt until confirmed. But if true, what do YOU think?

Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War will be directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, and is set to commence principal photography in October 2016 with Part I opening May 4, 2018, and Part II May 3, 2019.

I predict that the film part will make $2 billion, and if it's a big success, and the fans like it, the second part will make $3 billion.

So, all in all, they will get their money back.

Wow. That's pretty [frick]ing stupid and wasteful.

No way you will see Part 1 or Part 2 gross 2 billion each. I mean no doubt they will gross 2 billion or even 3 billion when you count them all together.

But who am I to argue with Feige having 2 of the greatest directors of all time who are from Cleveland to direct the 2 most important MCU films?

Feige right now

I mean, that's honestly a good thing...

Lets think about it: with a film like Infinity War that SHOULD be a cosmic event that involves 30+ costumed heroes and villains, you'd want the budget to be rather large so that the Russos would be capable to provide the right amount of CGI, costume design, and set design, which all together isn't exactly cheap. In other words we can expect not to see scenes in the film that look as if they were shot through a network television filter (ala the first Avengers film). We also won't see scenes that feel like a glass half empty situation.

This budget also lets us know that the scope and size of the film will be larger than we could've imagined. I doubt the film will be set heavily on Earth, we'll probably get to see some action sequences in space, on different planets, and quite possibly in different galaxies. This budget tells us that Marvel isn't dicking around with how GIGANTIC this film is going to be.

And that makes me very happy.

Holy [frick], that's insane, but also really risky, let's hope they don't spend too much on marketing then. That's what caused TASM 2 to be a real financial disappointment, nearly bombing. And this movie can not be considered a bomb, we won't allow it, it has to be good.

If Disney considered AOU's box office to be disappointing, then they'll be furious with IW's box office. Those two movies combined will make around $3B.

RDJ should get half the actor's budget. He's the backbone of the MCU and the other actors are really just riding his coattails.

RDJ = billion $ box office.
