The Russos Found A Genius Way To Connect AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON With AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

We know that Avengers: Infinity War's writers and directors weren't happy with all of Joss Whedon's past creative decisions but they took advantage of one particular Age of Ultron moment in a genius way...

While it's unclear whether or not Marvel Studios initially imagined Joss Whedon directing Avengers: Infinity War, the filmmaker dropped a lot of hints about Thanos' impending invasion in Avengers: Age of Ultron, including an after-credits scene the Russos and writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely hated and a baffling vision the God of Thunder had teasing the future of the Infinity Stones.

The latter was largely ignored in Avengers: Infinity War but...wait, was it really? As you can see by clicking through the slides in the Instagram post below, the team working on the epic superhero ensemble managed to find a way to tie what the God of Thunder said to The Vision's fate during the final act. It's extremely clever and a really cool way of proving that, yes, everything really is connected!

Needless to say, as fans get the chance to comb through Avengers: Infinity War, it will be interesting seeing what other Easter Eggs and references are discovered further tying the events of the movie into past releases. I thought it was pretty obvious that thor's vision also alludes vision in Infinity War. This is also pretty good

No, seriously, I don’t even know what this new connection is supposed to be. Whedon clearly meant the Infinity Gauntlet when he wrote that line, so in what way did anyone involved in Infinity War do something special to add meaning to it?

What did they do that was genius? I don’t know if I’m missing something or not.

Ah, okay... I found the button to advance the slides so at least now I know what they’re saying.

It’s putting way too much importance on Thanos’s wormhole being a whirlpool, but whatever.

you guys do realize that they're talking about the specifics and not just that "yeah, its an infinity stone and yeah Thanos will come for it" right?

@ODanil - The only specifics here is that he comes through a "whirlpool".

Would you call me crazy if I said this moment alluded to the events of The Avengers.

I think Josh is trying to relate the whirl pool to the wormhole but it feels like a stretch. Yet the mind stone is at the center of the gauntlet too. So what's the conclusion here? Maybe that's the point of this article, that the writers found a way to connect it. Feels forced tho. We already knew vision was gonna be important to infinity war. I just feel this isn't article worthy
