First and foremost let me start off by saying that I am not a professional writer, but a huge comic book and comic book movie fan. I have been following this site for years and have been paying close attention to all the “Avengers” posts. I have no inside information, nor do I have any secret telepathy. I would like to think that I am a logical thinker and pay close attention to the details in the articles on this site.

With all this being said I would like to make a case, or present information to whom I think the “Alien Army” is in the new “Avengers” movie. Let me start off by saying that I believe that the “alien army” is actually Atlantis. Before you scoff and stop reading please let me explain.

1) The first item I read on this site involved a call sheet regarding a scene with something called “leviathan”. Leviathan is defined as the following:
a)Monster: in the bible, a large beast or sea monster
Something Huge: something extremely large and powerful in comparison with others of its kind
b)Whale: a whale or other large sea animal

2) The producers of this movie and Marvel Comics have been very adamant that there are no other “heroes” in this movie. When Namor was first introduced into comics he was not a hero but a villain who fought the original human torch and Captain America. Joss whedon has recently stated that the movie is from Captain America’s perspective.

3) Last week there was an article about the producer giving an interview which he states that the “enemy” were neither the Kree nor the Skrull. He even mad a statement that they may not bet from outer space. He also states that the army would not have a major effect on the movie universe.

4) This week there was an article about a possible tie in with Namor on the set of Iron Man 3.

5) There had also been mention that Jeffery Wright had been on the New York set. If you watch his performance in “Shaft” I felt he had the look of a possible Namor. He might be a tad small but he had the hair and the facial hair to pull it off.

These are the details that lead me to believe that the army is Namor and Atlantis. Joss Whedon is great at taking an evil or bad character and give him or her substance and can make you feel for the character. All you have to do is watch old episodes of “Buffy”. They even got a spinoff with “Angel”. I believe this would also give the universe a boost. Obviously the army has technology above the norm in the previews. This could catapult future movies into the search for new technology. This is a way to introduce the Black Panther and Wakanda for future Marvel movies. Also leaves villains such as Klaw or even set up for a possible civil war story line.

I hope I have not offended anyone I just wanted to throw my two cents out there. Either way I am totally excited to see this movie.
