THE AVENGERS: Images from Albuquerque NM Set Reveal... India?

A couple set images from Albuquerque, New Mexico of Marvel's The Avengers depict of a Santa Fe railyard. Not that exciting, check out the images!

The last we heard regarding filming for Joss Whedon's superhero actioner Marvel's The Avengers was that it's "on schedule and going well." And now, the folks at SHH have recently been tipped by 'EvilElvis' of a filming location in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nothing to get too hyped for, besides it being new, the scooper offered the following:

These were taking in Albuquerque, NM where they are filming the Avengers movie aka GH aka Group Hug. They have leased the old Santa Fe rail yard. Cheers!

The images above may hint at an "India" setting for the scene. And with Marvel leasing the Santa Fe railyard, this doesn't confirm Albuquerque nor Santa Fe being the setting for scenes filmed there (check out the sanskrit signs), there is in fact a railway that connects the two. And doing a little digging, I found that the Southern Railway located in the "Santa Fe Railyard" district is closed due to track fixtures. Hopefully, the Hulk is involved with filming here, maybe paying homage to Goliath being tricked by Loki into destroying a railroad track in the original Stan Lee-written 'Avengers' comic, essentially assembling the team. What do you think?

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston & Stellan Skarsgård, the film releases May 4, 2012!

Hmm okay so it's meant to be in the middle east somewhere.

Anyone have an ideas of what could be going on? Could this be where Banner is hiding out?

The whole Hulk destroying the rail road thing would be a nice homage to the original comics, which Joss said he's a massive fan of.

It just makes sense and you don't really need Loki involved at this stage anyway. The team are trying to find Bruce Banner. They find him hiding out in India or the middle east or whatever and something happens that sets him off. It could be the first action sequence of the film where we see The Avengers fighting and working together. The scene could end with Thor rocking up at the last minute like he does and kicking Hulk's ass.

@ELgUaSoN That's exactly the image I was looking for haha! I'd love to see the Hulk in a desert-like setting again. It worked so perfectly in Ang Lee's Hulk. And involving a train track, damn this is exciting!

@Nephillim I'm sure dude, I'm a Bangladeshi myself I can read a bit here and there that's how I recognise it... And yeah there seems to be tidbits of other languages too which I don't seem to recognise...

@molee Yes I do mean Bangladeshi, I'm just saying the language is Bengali, but the people aren't Indian even though the language is an Indo-Aryan language of the eastern Indian subcontinent.

The Avengers formed because the Hulk was tricked by Loki into accidentally damaging a train track just as a train was approaching. He managed to keep the train from derailing but was seen and the distress call sent out accusing him of trying to derail the train. The other soon to be original team members responded, trying to capture him.

Only makes sense to me that a train station is a part of this story. Kudo's to Whedon if he is in fact staying true to the actual origin, and a pox upon him if it doesn't include two of the original five Avengers!!!

Saw Thor.

What a pile of shit.

Avengers will suck. It better be a 3 hour movie, because if it isn't, they will literally not have enough time to develop a damn thing, story or character wise.

I HAVE A BAD FEELING ABOUT THE AVENGERS NOW.
