Does Clayface Have A Post-Credits Scene? Here's Your Spoiler-Free Answer

DC Studios' Clayface arrives in theaters next weekend, but should you stay in your seats for anything extra when the credits roll? Here's what you need to know about potential mid- and post-credits scenes.

The first Clayface reactions have been very positive, and excitement for DC Studios' R-rated horror movie is building. Originally envisioned as part of Matt Reeves' Batverse by Mike Flanagan, the project is now set in the DCU and will explore Matt Hagen's transformation into the monster we first met in Creature Commandos.

Batman isn't expected to appear, though there have been hints that something Dark Knight-related could be planned for the Gotham City-set tale. Whether that's another shadowy cameo, a mention, or a news report remains to be seen, but there's a lot of interest among those eager to see The Brave and the Bold take shape.

A post-credits scene would obviously be a good place to introduce or tease Batman, so should you stick around when the movie ends and the credits roll?

Well, we can tell you today that Clayface does NOT have a mid-credits or post-credits scene. There's a slim chance that DC Studios is keeping one under wraps before the movie's release next weekend, but we wouldn't bank on it; as a result, when the movie ends, that's it, though you could always stick around to see the names of everyone who worked hard on the movie.

During a recent interview, Clayface star Tom Rhys Harries was asked whether Matt is aware of Batman and replied, "We have footage, and I don't think it's. I don't know how much I can say about this. Yes, we had discussions about that at length." So, a reference to the hero seems likely.

A gruesome new clip from Clayface has also been released, which you can check out in the player below.

In Clayface, Matt Hagen’s meteoric rise from Gotham street kid to Hollywood leading man is tragically cut short when a local crime boss’s actions leave him horribly disfigured. Abandoned by his team and with nothing left, Matt seeks out a cutting-edge treatment that miraculously returns him to his former self, but also unexpectedly affects his grip on reality, spiralling him down a destructive path of all-consuming revenge.

The movie stars Tom Rhys Harries in the title role of the cult-favourite villain from Gotham's rogues' gallery. The cast includes Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan, as well as Nancy Carroll and Joshua James.

James Watkins directs from a screenplay by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, with Flanagan also getting a "Story by" credit. Clayface is produced by Matt Reeves, Lynn Harris, James Gunn and Peter Safran, with Michael E. Uslan, Chantal Nong Vo, Lars P. Winther, Rafi Crohn and Paul Ritchie executive producing.

Watkins' creative team includes director of photography Rob Hardy, production designer James Price, editor Jon Harris and costume designer Keith Madden. Volker Bertelmann (Conclave) is the movie's composer.

Clayface will be released in theaters on October 23.
