BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Halts Production AGAIN As Lupita Nyong'o And Others Test Positive For COVID

It's been revealed that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has once again halted production after members of the sequel's cast and crew tested positive for COVID-19. Find the latest details after the jump...

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hasn't had the smoothest of productions. Many fans have questioned whether a sequel should even happen in the wake of Chadwick Boseman's tragic death, but the movie has since seen star Letitia Wright injured thanks to a stunt gone wrong and work halted prior to the holidays thanks to various pandemic-related complications.

Rumour has it that Wright has finally agreed to be vaccinated, enabling her to work in the U.S. and on Disney productions given their rules about cast and crew having the jab.

Of course, this lessens the symptoms and reduces the risk of hospitalisation and death; it doesn't stop you from getting COVID. Now, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that after restarting production in Atlanta, Georgia last week, work on the Marvel Studios movie has been delayed yet again.

The trade explains, "several cast and crew members including Lupita Nyong’o tested positive for the virus." Don't panic too much, though, as work will resume later this week.

This is still another blow to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and you have to believe it's going to make everyone's job that little bit harder as the movie's release date nears. It can't be helped, though, and the important thing is that everyone on set who has contracted the virus makes a full, speedy recovery.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives in theaters on November 11, 2022.

@DipperPines - You do know getting the vax doesn't prevent you from still catching the virus and spreading it, right?

DipperPines - 1/19/2022, 12:16 PM
@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Well we dont know if he had the vaccine or not.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Like a mask, it helps to alleviate the severity of what hits you and gets spread to others. Nothing makes you immune.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - exactly! So why is it being forced….
RebelCommander
RebelCommander - 1/19/2022, 12:36 PM
@DipperPines - Well, I do believe that only 53% of the African American community in the United States is vaccinated, so chances are that a lot of people are to blame for this

@DipperPines - it’s simply impossible to tell… but if I was working on the film I know who I’d be having some choice words about

@ProudPatriot76 - It's not uncommon to have these sorts of rules for public safety - its like complaining about there being traffic laws. Stop signs aren't optional for a reason and are just as much if not more of an impact on individual rights (especially compared to masks). Stop signs don't prevent all automobile accidents, but they greatly reduce them.

The moment votes were prioritized over public safety the US and other countries who did the same thing were in trouble. I am not a fan of forcing it on people, especially the vaccine, but masks are merely an article of clothing for public safety. People can't go into Walmart naked, and you see no sort of revolt or uprising around that. It became political and that has only hurt our communities in an attempt for a few to maintain power.

Like stop signs, no solution is perfect, but they make a big difference for not only oneself, but those around them. Trump severely messed up the communication around the disease and Biden hasn't really done much to correct it - so here we are.

@Itwasme - stop signs and seat belts are effective. Masks have been proven to be ineffective for months now. Welcome to year 3 of “15 days to curve the spread”

@ProudPatriot76 - or, and hear me out, it might have to do with idiots not wearing their masks. This is kind of a self fulfilling prophecy.

"I'm not gonna wear any mask. I don't care about any mandate"

Pandemic remains

"See? The masks aren't working"

@ProudPatriot76 - what evidence do you have that KN95 and N95 masks don't work?

@Origame - lol, I got nothing. I’m impressed with your willingness to comply and be pushed around though.

@ProudPatriot76 - ...how am I being pushed around? By listening to what people are telling me will prevent it? Come on dude. It's the top medical scientists in the institution designed to control diseases for public safety, and all they said was to stay 6 feet and wear a mask.

At this point, just delay it and switch it with the Marvels.

@MCUKnight11 - Yep!

Its like God is trying to tell them to go ahead and recast T'Challa.

Giving them chance after chance to do so. Switch up the schedule and take the time needed to rework everything while they still can!

MCUKnight11 - 1/19/2022, 12:00 PM
@BlackBeltJones - Just imagining the scrutiny he's going to get regardless of how good the movie is because a number of people aren't going to agree with the story decisions he makes and how he handles T'Challa.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 1/19/2022, 12:04 PM
@MCUKnight11 - he’s been put in a near winless situation. But even with me disagreeing about the recasting of T’Challa, I can’t argue that he knew the man personally and I’m sure he will handle the goodbye and tribute with the utmost class.

He’s a good dude through a through.

Origame - 1/19/2022, 4:07 PM
@MCUKnight11 - personally I'm putting this squarely on marvel, and if it's good that's just proving coogler is too good for this world.

I just recovered from Covid-19 a few days ago. And while the entire world including myself want to be done with this virus, people are to blame. It affects everyone differently. I had 3 days of intense back pains that were the worst I have experienced. My parents had extreme flu symptoms and my uncle passed away from it. Some people believe they are titanium and their freedoms are being impacted and it's those very same ideals causing this circus to continue spiraling out of control. Take care of yourselves and have some courtesy for other humans. We are all in this together.

@SpiderBrad - I try to see the point of view of everyone but sometimes people are so blinded by their own groups that they fail to see the world for themselves with their own eyes and instead follow blindly.

@SonOfAGif -

I don't wish it on anyone, but catching the virus seems to be the only way some folks take it more seriously if at all.
