It doesn't look like Disney/Marvel will be delaying the release of
Black Widow. Or at least, there are no plans to do so currently.
Earlier today,
it was announced that MGM and Universal had pushed back No Time To Die by over 7 months amid concerns that the new James Bond movie would suffer in overseas markets because of the coronavirus outbreak. There was a lot of speculation that Marvel would follow-suit with
Black Widow, but
Deadline reckons the studio is "adamant" that it won't be budging on the scheduled May 1 release date.
Despite this, several insiders have heard rumors that
Widow might shift to
Eternals' Nov. 6 release date, moving that film to 2021. For now, all we have to go on are the trade reports, and it sounds like
Black Widow will be staying put.
Likewise, Universal will be leaving
F9 where it is, and Warner Bros. plans to stick with the set release dates for summer tentpoles
Scoob! and
Wonder Woman 1984.
The situation could well change if the outbreak worsens, of course, so we'll have to wait see how the rest of March goes.
