If there really is any bad blood between Zack Snyder and Warner Bros., the filmmaker has no problem showing his support for one of the studio's upcoming DC Comics-based projects.
Though WB did ultimately decide to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut of Justice League in 2021, some believe there is still some ill feeling on both sides because of what went down when Snyder was in the process of directing the theatrical version of the movie that ended up being completed by Joss Whedon.
Last year, a trade report suggested that the studio actually regretted releasing Zack Snyder's Justice League on the HBO Max (which has since dropped the HBO) streaming service, because they felt it "only further entrenched" the director's fanbase against the WB leadership.
Regardless, Snyder clearly isn't overly bitter about anything that may have occurred, as he shared the following Tweet earlier today.
The Rebel Moon director says he's looking forward to taking his kids to see Jaime Reyes' first big-screen adventure, while sharing a pretty cool (possibly fan-made) new poster featuring the hero.
"Recent college grad Jaime Reyes (Xolo Mariduena) returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it," reads the synopsis. "As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab."
"When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armour capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero Blue Beetle."
The cast also includes Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, and Raoul Max Trujillo.
Blue Beetle is set to be released in theaters on August 18, 2023.
