When Sebastian Stan discussed his new movie, The Bronze, with Entertainment Tonight, who will debut new Captain America: Civil War behind-the-scenes footage tonight, the actor was eventually pressed about his third turn as Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier. More specifically, Stan was asked about working with such a large ensemble of actors, as well as his thoughts on the Marvel threequel’s “dramatic, controversial” ending as was described by co-director Anthony Russo. Check out the intriguing video interview below.
“It's inevitable not to geek out a little bit around Robert Downey Jr.,” said Sebastian Stan when asked which Captain America: Civil War star was he most excited to finally work with. “Just to be around him [and] fight across from [and against] him was definitely a highlight!” About actor Paul Rudd, who makes his return as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Sebastian Stan said, “I couldn't keep a straight face with [him]!” He continued, “I'm a huge fan of his, but also he's just so funny and witty and he was always like cracking me up.”
“I think it's going to be an epic experience for people,” added Stan when ET asked about Anthony Russo’s description of the Civil War’s ending. “I'm very excited for people to hear and see what side everybody ends up on, 'cause it gets a little heartbreaking.” This seems to add fuel to rumors that a major character(s) will bite the dust. Directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability. With an all-star cast that includes Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, with William Hurt, and Martin Freeman, Captain America: Civil War is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.
