Yeah, I still use WINNING. That's not cool anymore?

Jim Lee (Korean 이용철; born August 11, 1964) is a Korean-American comic book artist, writer, editor and publisher. He first broke into the industry in 1987 as an artist for Marvel Comics, illustrating titles such as Alpha Flight and Punisher War Journal, before gaining a great deal of popularity on The Uncanny X-Men. X-Men #1, the 1991 spinoff series premiere that Lee penciled and co-wrote with Chris Claremont, remains the best-selling comic book of all time, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

In 1992 Lee and several other artists formed their own publishing company, Image Comics, to publish their creator-owned titles, with Lee publishing his titles through his studio, Wildstorm Productions, such as WildC.A.T.s and Gen¹³. Eschewing the role of publisher in order to return to illustration, Lee sold Wildstorm in 1998 to DC Comics, where he continued to run Wildstorm as a DC imprint until DC ended Wildstorm in 2010, as well as illustrating successful books set in DC's main fictional universe, such as the year-long "Batman: Hush" and "Superman: For Tomorrow" storylines. On February 18, 2010, Jim Lee was announced as the new Co-Publisher of DC Comics with Dan DiDio, both replacing Paul Levitz.

He has received a Harvey Award, Inkpot Award and three Wizard Fan Awards in recognition for his work.

Hey, if Jim Lee could redesign a costume maybe Id put up with him.

@TeddyKGB yeah, but if you were able to use DC characters you'd have thousands of Batmen running around. Or Supes, or GL... I just wish they let you use the character's emblems in your dude...

@Teddy
Yes it does. Dcuo has it right, create your own hero and fight for/with dc heroes. I think that is the best part of the game.

@TeddyKGB really? So we gonna have 3000 Caps running around. And that's better?

Teddy clearly hasn't thought this through. :)

You CAN play as the DC heroes and villains in one aspect though - via the Legends PvP event. It's not what you had in mind perhaps, but it's there.

I'm really enjoying it at the moment. Got my villain up to level 25 and will push onto level 30 over the next week. It's good fun, a little 'small' once you get used to it, but the addition of Central City with the new DLC should improve that.

The move to F2P has been a great idea - they just need to ensure regular updates and work on the bugginess and lag if they want to keep everyone beyond the first few months.

DC is definitely winning right now, it's good to see they've given Marvel some good competition, it's good for the industry.

And calling dude dbag was uncalled for, holmes.

@KeuthM I just started, trying to get the hang of it. Never really played a MMO

DC swept the diamond awards last year so why is everyone shocked. DCUO can get annoying at times but fun none the less. I agree, who the hell wants 500 Supermen running around? Where's the imagination and fun in that?

@TeddyKGB I don't know what your problem is, but you're coming off as a freaking idiot. First making false claims about a game then claiming a game we know nothing about will magically fix the problem all licensed MMOs have.

You CAN play as established characters in DCUO, however it isn't the main focus of the game because the game was built around the idea that "The next legend is YOU." It is an MMO after all, not a single player cinematic.

DCUO is about as much of a WOW clone as TF2 is a Doom clone. DCUO has broken more of the MMO norms than any other game. It's not CoH either. CoH and DCUO are entirely different experiences.

I suggest you actually understand what you are talking about before you make yourself look retarded on the internet.

I'd say dc are only winning on the game front, marvel have the movie ATM. Both companies comics are a bit dull, some good arcs but nothing as gripping as it could be.

As for the marvel mmo vs DCUO I think the people saying that the marvel mmo is gonna be shit are hypocrites for having a go at Teddy for defending by saying 'it's isn't out yet, how can you say it's better'. I enjoy DCUO but it does have something missing that I can't quite work out, it does quite seem worth it, and in the marvel mmo you apparently play through key arcs throughout the marvel history so I don't imagine there would be 3000 spidermen, you would be the only one in that party, I dunno how it would work, but I doubt you'll have thousands of the same superhero running round.

marvel72 - 11/18/2011, 5:14 AM
yeah dc are winning,dc/sony had to give the dc universe online away free just to get people playing it,they had to reboot an entire comic universe, they took ages to air new episodes of young justice, wonder woman tv show was cancelled before it aired, smallville season 10 was shite, green lantern under performs at box office.

if you class that as winning,i hate to see them lose. :D

As someone who has spent more hours than id actually like to admit playing multiple MMO's, im gonna have to say you have no idea what you are talking about @Teddy. First, DCUO is NOTHING like CoH. I know because i played CoH for about a year. The only thing they have in common is you play a superhero. Second as someone who still plays WoW and DCUO, i can say that it is definitely not a WoW clone. You want to see a WoW clone, log on to Steam and get a game called Forsaken World. Or heck, even Rift, the little i played it, but it seemed like a WoW rip off with a few changes.

What makes a MMO great, is you get to design and create a toon that is all you. Whats the point of playing an established character that you cant control (for the most part) who and what the character is. Running around as Batman is great, in Arkahm City or Assylum. Or playing as Wolvie in Ultimate Alliance is great, but if im gonna invest in a game, i want control over what im doing and who im creating.

I just thought it needed to be repeated. As much of a DC guy i am, these are all facts. The only place DC is winning is in the animated films department. As for the comics, Johns, Morrisson and Didio are really selling flavored turds labelled as expensive fine cheeses.
