Your chance to get your voice heard on all your favorite comic books from Marvel, DC, IDW, Millarworld and more! Continue on to find out what I'm currently reading as well as a few reviews from the broader CBM community. If you're passionate about comic books, this is the feature for you!

Feature Opinion

Listen up all you longtime comic book readers here on the site, this is your opportunity to share your thoughts and opinions about this week's newest comic books. Each week I'll be posting some quick bullet reviews of the titles currently on my pull list and anything else I happen to pick up while I'm in my LCS. I'm only one person and obviously not reading everything so to make this feature as all-encompassing as possible anyone else that wants to participate can. All you have to do is the following:

1: Write a short 1-paragraph review of the current titles you read that week.
2. Email me your review.
3. Keep spoilers to a minimum and be sure to include your 5-star rating!
4. Include your CBM User name/Twitter handle/Blog/Etc. if you have one

That's it. And things aren't limited to just the titles that are not on my Pull List. You want to voice your opinion on the latest issue of Batman from Scott Snyder or The Amazing Spider-Man from Dan Slott? Covering some creator owned titles over at IDW or Dark Horse or maybe you're reading one of the Mark Millar books? If you've got something to say about what you're reading then feel free to send your reviews my way .

AvsX: Consequences #4 (w) Kieron Gillen (a)Mark Brooks
(c) Jim Charalampidis (cvr) Larroca & Curiel

Gillen continues to undo the damage done in AvsX, Cyclops is actually being depicted as someone you can root for and Gillen still supplies quick peeks into what's happening in the broader Marvel Universe. The only hiccup is another blunt setup for Iron Man's decision to head off into space with The Guardians of the Galaxy. That's the lone setup that feels forced in an issue that masterfully sets up Hope's pursuit of Cable, Colossus' pursuit of his sister and an all new (Evil?) Brotherhood of Mutants. If you're looking to get a sense of what MarvelNOW is all about, this is the book to read.

Aquaman #13 (w) Geoff Johns (a)Ivan Reis
(c) Jim Charalampidis (cvr) Reis & Prado

The conclusion to The Others miniseries was a massive letdown. The title started off as one of the New 52's best but has been on a steady decline for the last few issues. Aquaman's long building confrontation with Black Manta was over in mere moments and the reveal of a 'bigger mysterious threat' behind Manta undermines his threat credibility. It's been speculated that Johns is leaving the title after issue #16 along with Reis and this issue feels like a hasty effort to tie-up plotlines. The art from Reis is topnotch as ever, keeping this from a 1-star rating.

Swamp Thing #13 (w) Scott Snyder (a)Yanick Paquette
(c) Nathan Fairbairn (cvr) Yanick Paquette

CBM USER: Bandido | I feel like all I need to write for this review is SWAMP THING WITH FREAKING ANGEL WINGS! Then, I would just drop the mic and walk away. I mean come on! That’s all you need to know to buy this comic book. I don’t need to elaborate anymore right? No? Okay well Swamp Thing 13 is the beginning of the Rotworld Crossover. You get solid writing from Scott Snyder and beautiful artwork from Yanick Paquette. Some panels are going to just stick with you for the rest of your life and possibly haunt your dreams. The one minor problem I had was that the revelation at the end dragged a little. Other than that if you haven’t been reading Swamp thing (why not?) you should pick this up!

Ultimate Spider-Man #16.1 (w) Brian Michael Bendis (a)David Marquez
(c) Justin Ponsor (cvr) David Marquez

CBM USER: Asterisk | The new Ultimate Spider-Man series, despite being very controversial, has been consistently keeping quality, setting up this new Spider-Man's world and pulling in elements from Peter Parker's old one to challenge him. In this Point One issue, Brian Bendis sets up a great plot with Betty Brant and ends it with a truly horrifying and surprising image. The issue is a bit on the short side, and barely features Spider-Man at all, but Bendis knows how to keep us entertained with just the side characters, and builds up to the upcoming issues well.

I can see why Demon Knights and Red Hood are in the danger zone. Red Hood's been struggling without Rocafort and is being pulled into the bat-books too much and the creative team on Demon Knights are going to be dropped entirely, meaning it just won't be the same book anymore. I'm dropping the two of those, myself.
As far as Nu52 books go, I, Vampire gets my highest recomendation, as does Batman Inc.

It's a terrible shame that Aquaman started off solid & now it's gone downhill.

@StuckInPanels I found Justice Leauge Dark to be pretty boring. It picked up with Lemire but by then my interest had waned.

I disagree entirely on the review for Aquaman. I think it's still one of DC's best books. If there's a problem at all, it's the 20 page count. You wouldn't think two pages would make that much difference, but it does.

Sadly, I think that DC's biggest failing is Superman. I really like Morrison's Action Comics, but it doesn't fit with the other Superman book in the slightest. For that matter, the other Superman book doesn't fit with itself in the slightest.

I really didn't even think anyone read aquaman. Consequences was phenomenal as wasthe finale to everything burns in Thor. Wolverine and the xmen is starting to become my guilty pleasure.

As far as earth 2, ultimate Spiderman , astonishing xmen, and young avengers I can't get down with the homo sexual characters. I think its unneeded and tasteless.
