In this article i will bring to light 6 characters that are either upcoming (will be featured more) or are about to appear in the MCU who are actually "inspired" by DC.

Thanos and Darkseid
The first one I want to highlight is Thanos and Darkseid

Thanos 1st appearance february 1972

darkseid 1st appearance February 1971

Thanos who as we all know will become and more prominent in the MCU and has already appeared in post credits for avengers and is the overlord villain in Guardians of the galaxy and is rumoured to be the villian in avengers 3.

Thanos essentially is inspired by darkseid

Darkseid in case you dont know is a superman villain who is rumoured to be the main protagnoist in the upcoming justice league movie. Much like how Thanos spends his time looking for the infinity gauntle, darkseid is obsessed with the Anti-Life Equation

according to Jim starlin originally Thanos was more like Metron (another DC character)

but someone at marvel told him that
"If you're going to steal one of the New Gods, at least rip off Darkseid, the really good one!"

and just like that the thanos you know was born.

Hawkeye- Green Arrow
The Next comparison is between Between Hawkeye and Green arrow
Green arrow 1st appearance November 1941

Hawkeye 1st appearance september 1964

Hakeye in avengers

Hawkeye played by Jeremy renner in cinema and has appearred in Avengers and will appear in avengers 2 and has a potential solo movie in the works

Its basically another character with the bow and arrow, skilled in hand to hand combat and has arrows that uses technology to do all sorts of things. Its very much a rip-off of green arrow.

Quicksilver and The Flash
The next comparison is quick Silver and the flash

The Flash 1st appearance january 1940

Quicksilver 1st appearance March 1964

The abilities are distinct and similar right down to the lightning streak also being copied, its also worth noting that inm 1940 dc also had a flash villian called quicksilver who possesed superspeed and was a villain for the flash. All that was ignored when quicksilver was created and the other quicksilver ended up having to change his name for fear of confusion. But quicksilver is essentially a flash inspired character who also took the name of one of his villains.

Ant Man - The Atom

My next  one is Ant Man and the Atom

The Atom (DC Comics) 1st appearance Oct 1940

Ant man (Marvel) 1st Appearance sept 1962

As we all know ant man has had various production problems and is due for a big debut next year in the MCU, however its worth mentioning that the original shrinking hero actually came from dc.

The original atom was basically a short guy with no powers who was a symbol (like batman in the nolan movies) for what all diminutive guys could achieve.

However In 1961, the atom got relaunched with Ray palmer (also a scientist) with the ability to reduce and shrink his size and density by altering his molecular structure.
That obviously got someone at marvels attention as less than a year later we got Ant man.

Dr Fate and Dr Strange
Doctor fate- 1st Appearance  May 1940
Doctor strange July 1963

As we all know Marvel are in the process of casting doctor strange for a movie in 2016. However there was an orignal sorceror supreme in Doctor Fate.
Both these two doctors are sorceror supremes and draw their powers from amulets and mystical capes too.

The Vision and Martian manhunter
Martian Manhunter 1st Appearance November 1955

The Vision 1st Appearance October 1968

both these two play similar roles to the teams they are in justice league and avengers.  they also have similar powers with the flight, strenght, Phasing, lasers fired from head. And being a bit mysterious and trying to understand Humanity

Bonus comparison- Justice league- The avengers
I also included a bonus comparison which is

Justice league and avengers
Justice league 1st appearance february 1960

The Avengers 1st appearance september 1963

I know what your thinking, what does one ensemble have to do with the other?

In truth it could be Justice league compared to xmen or fantastic four, but I have chosen the avengers as it is usually cited as some example of innovation from marvel.

well according to stan lee in his autobiography the justice leagues success as a comic book led to the creation of both the fantastic four and essentially led to marvel doing more teams (xmen, avengers, etc) martin goodman (marvel owner at time) told stan lee to come up with an ensemble team of superheroes after seeing the success of the justice league

according to stan lee in his autobiography origins of marvel comics
"Martin mentioned that he had noticed one of the titles published by National Comics seemed to be selling better than most. It was a book called The [sicJustice League of America and it was composed of a team of superheroes. ... ' If the Justice League is selling ', spoke he, "why don't we put out a comic book that features a team of superheroes?"

this started with fantastic four and evolved to avengers and xmen. Essentially without the Justice league none of these marvel ensemble would exist.

well thats it for my comparison, its my first editiorial. let me know your thoughts below and if you like what you have read dont forget to click the thumbs up.
