All-new original graphic novel, modernizing the formative first days of this super-hero icon that defined pop culture! Billionaire weapons manufacturer Tony Stark lived a life of wealth and privilege. That all changed when an on-site visit to a war-torn nation went horribly wrong, leaving Tony gravely injured in the hands of dangerous extremists - one a former friend. When asked to build a weapon, Tony instead constructed a mechanized suit of armor and escaped. But the horrors he left behind are coming for retribution, and the only way to stop them is for the carefree playboy to become the Iron Man!

Wow, Iron Man: Season One looks great - not just the art, but also the depiction of the armor. I'm definitely getting that, if I've got the money!

Meh, most of these I've read are pretty boring. The Doctor Strange one was the best so far though. IMO.

Nomis: You're close, my friend. Marvel has more turned green. They're now the House of Recycled Ideas.

That said, I don't necessarily mind the idea of putting the origins out for younger fans who may not know them. I don't mind them tweaking the origins a little around the edges to make them more contemporary (like having Tony create his first Iron Man armor in the Middle East instead of Vietnam). I don't like the idea of let's make the movie origin canon. Leave the movie as its own separate universe.

Wolverine was a LOT cooler when we had only the vaguest clues of his past- we just knew he had been around for quite a while and he'd been through a lot of weird and nasty crap. It's too bad we can't go back to that Wolverine.

What is wrong with Marvel these days??..first they copy the new 52 and now they are ripping off the dc year one books...whatever happened to the house of ideas??

Nice art work
For the haters, don't forget there are younger fans who haven't read about their origins.
So think about the greater/ untouch market.

The comics industry has been around for more than 50 years, of course they are going to recycle some ideas at some point. Heroes reborn, heroes return, marvel now etc etc.
I'm sure lots of fans are craving for JLA movie after the success of the Avengers. And it is obvious that WB is planning to follow Marvel Studios' idea in creating a shared universe.
Is that considered as a copycat too?

Cmon guys, grow up. Competition is good.

These look great actually. I might have to pop down to the city and grab all of Season Ones because it's nice to read the updated origins and as the youngling I am, I've never had to real chance to do so.

And if I'm mighty correct, the DC's "Year Ones" take place in their own universe instead of the cannon because they're meant to more 'realistic', whatever that means. That's because DC rewrite their character's history every twenty years or so and don't have an ever so continuing universe like MARVEL's. These Season Ones just updating for audiences such as I.

You guys keep saying it's like Year One, but don't you mean Earth One? sigh. But anyway, Marvel's 'Season One' is nothing like DC's 'Earth One'
It's cool that these stories are canon, but Geoff Johns did a great job recreating Batman in Earth One. He wrote a story that hasn't been told before. As did JMS with Superman: Earth One. Season One retells stories most comic readers already know. It's cool for new readers though. And Marvel has certainly been churning these out quicker than DC.
