This story arc has been great so far, so I'm looking forward to reading this! But I do kinda agree with darkmetal. The Avengers roster does need thinning down a little...

The Avengers have always rotated freaking everyone and never had a stable roster, makes sense in a world populated by super beings. Whining about the "Avenger's name" not meaning anything is so ridiculous,


it's a fictional team, fictional characters in a post-(fictional)-registration/heroic age world. Heroic Age, when Cap became the new Nick Fury, was basically the exact same thing as when Iron Man was the head of SHIELD, except no one had a problem with it. Now, Cap's friends join and leave under Cap.

^^^ Most likely. Which is a shame, because Wonder Man should be one of Marvel's heavy hitters. Dude's got near-Class 100 strength and is indestructible. He should be hanging with the likes of Thor and Hulk.

Basically the Civil War and Dark Reign basically broke him because a lot of the big events were in part due to Avengers existing. He was fine with small teams but having such a large scale has brought trouble. That's what he thinks. He wanted to get the team disbanded to prevent any more large scale problems.


Also yeah, the Avengers roster has always changed. Something that's always been a membership/union type deal will always have a change of hands.

The team is still very small but in compromise after civil war, they have started basically a wider organization to monitor all the other heroes. So the those heroes in Idaho are not Avengers. They are affiliated with the initiative but they are not Avengers.


I also assume that variant was made prior to Ms marvel correcting her name.

Clint is with Spider-woman. Your probably flipping through issues where they take place prior or the cover does no represent the interior. Widow has been with Bucky since he became Cap.

With Wonderman they are trying to imply that he has a mental imbalance.

yeah --- Time was when being an Avenger carried some weight, partly because they had heavy hitters like Thor and Hulk, but also partly because it was almost-somewhat exclusive. But in recent years they pee-peed all over that. Seems like anyone who turns up with any sort of super-power is qualified to be an Avenger nowdays [see: Squirrel-Girl] I wonder what made them decide to just toss anybody on the team. Screw it... Balloon-Man? You're on. Rubber-Chicken Lass? Here's your Avengers' Card.

Spider-Man and Iron Fist and Daredevil are cool.... but they're cool on their own. Their characters need to be highlighted; they're not good team characters where they only get 2 or 3 panels of dialogue. Bendis made it just too busy.

And throwing Wolverine in the mix and trying to play it off with wonky dialogue about how he can be on 4 teams at once.... just bad, man.

Hmmm... since Thor doesn't have his helmet in the movies now they're adapting that in the comics as well? LAME!!!
