Overall, Spider-Island has been a success thus far. It's a concept I myself like, people turning into giant spiders, it's like a 50's science fiction story! The issues themselves overall have just been "good." I don't like the light-hearted feel, and I can't stand the cartoony art. With that said, let's get on to my review of Part 5.

The plot continues as the Queen is closer to making her big finisher. Meanwhile, the cure is just about completed, and we can't have that, can we? Jakal sends Tarantula, and Spidey has to stop him. Also, Madame Web makes a pretty big error....

This issue was a vital, and very good one. Seeds are planted for post-Spider-Island stories. The whole Kaine thing was unexpected, and I'm very intrigued with where it will go. The whole Anti-Venom thing looks like a cop-out, they don't know what do with him afterward, so they get rid of him in a way that makes sense, but I don't like it.

I also don't like how Mary Jane is portrayed. She is still a useless character in Big Time, and has been so since since she arrived back in Spidey's world way back in issue 600. The dialogue in some scenes are pretty uninspired, like with one of the members asking someone to go have burgers. Really?!

I like how the plot is progressing. The Queen still hasn't impressed me as an omega-level threat yet. Jackal has been a fun character for this entire arc, I'm disappointed he won't be appearing much in the future. There are some really great character driven moments, I really like the scene with an army general telling Thing to stand down cause he's been fighting for hours.

You know what I'm going to say about the art, right? It's too cartoony, Marvel's art really sucks when compared to DC's art. Sorry, it's the sad truth. This art only works on making the spiders look cool, and that's about it. The cover showcases Mary Jane in a Spider-Man type outfit. I'm not sure they should use that for an "epic" event Cover.

In closing, this is one of the best issues of Spider-Island yet. It has some unbelievable plot twists and developments that will intrigue you. Still, I have to wonder why Madame Web is one of the most annoying characters who just made the event worse for the heroes.

8/10.

true.lol. I just, man there are just so many things that can happen. How will this conclude and what will the outcome be with many of the characters. Will Jameson finally stop being an ass to Spider-man now finally knowing what its like to be Spider-man. Will Carlie find out the true Identity of Spider-man is Peter or will Kaine help him out on that? Will Anti-venom be around beyond this? How will this change the status guo of Spider-man and his universe of characters
